Swamp Rat Threads Started Elswhere

I'm very curious, why arent Swamp Rat related threads that are posted elsewhere (like the Busse forum for instance) Not moved here?

Seems like this is where they honestly belong. Its really not that hard to move them, really.

I'd love to see more action here, its getting better, but it could be so much more with those extra threads here.

Just a thought.

Well, there's two Swamps and the Busse forum has a strong family vibe that allows all kinds of off topic posts, so why is there an issue with posting Rats in the Hog trough? Real rats exist near pig pens, no?

Ok, most everything I'm typing is all in fun.

I kinda wish we had just one place to all hang out and discuss Swamp Rat knives, but in reality...we have options.
 
Once upon a time they were moved here, then suddenly they stopped.

My main concern with the threads in the Busse forum is the adamant quote from the Swamp website about calling Busse with a Swamp Rat question is not acceptable and will result in being barred.

Second, Busse and Swamp are separate entities, another fact drilled very deep by Busse. Yea, it doesnt help when he includes Swamp knives in his ganzas. I got an angry phone call for saying essentially what you did above, that it doesnt matter as they are under one roof. Evidently it does.

No worries, I was just looking for a reason, again, why not put the Swamp stuff here?
 
I think it would make the Swamp Rat specific forum a better place if all Swamp Rat specific discussion took place here. It would probably increase the amount of forum traffic here, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

I always wondered about the whole "don't contact Busse Combat regarding SRKW, or we'll never sell to you, EVER" thing. That doesn't seem to be enforced, so I don't understand the reasoning for such a harsh warning. I DO understand that they are seperate entities and all inquiries should be directed to the respective customer service department, but I just feel that saying they'll never sell to you if you call the Busse shop with a SRKW question is a bit harsh.
 
Yea that sounds harsh, is this a factual or rumored comment? Unless this is a fact with proof i find it hard to believe.

What if someone who never heard of that rule asked a easy question? it just sounds absurd they would never do business with them because they might have to say, "no, sorry you need to contact SRKW for that"

Anyway id like it if all swamp related threads were here, id like more traffic here as well. I have started 1 thread in the busse s/f and it was linking a thread here in the swamp for a KDSH review. But i did that because there was currently active conversations there about the KDSH and cord wrapping it. But for the most part i keep my swamp rat posts here.
 
I just tried to find it. It was on their old website, I guess it didn't survive the transition. It was definitely not rumored, I remember reading it. I guess they don't feel so strongly about it anymore. GOOD!
 
worldwood, yea its a fact, I remember it clearly. It sounded harsh at the time, but I figured it was a business law thing that is way over my head. :) Overlapping separate business's can be a precarious thing, you see the umbrella of one business owning several separate business's quite frequently, but nearly every time they are unique to themselves and only discovered under a listing.

EDIT to add, Its good to see more in agreement that Swamp threads belong here, why have this sub forum if its ok to post the stuff in the Busse forum? If that is the case then why not combine the two into one sub forum? Personally I'd rather have them separate.
 
On the same token, why are we lacking a SYKCO thread? I (being new to this) had read the same thing on the SYKCO site and made sure to add an "OFF TOPIC" tag when asking about the 411 in the Swamp thread. Imagine how bad it would be if you had JUST found these beefs and you couldn't EVER order one...Guess its a good thing I have a Fiance and not a wife ;) diff last name and all that good stuff!
 
I have to agree that sometimes there are threads that belong over here. The thing that I look at is that there are Busse guys that are also Swamp Rat guys. In the same way that Scrap Yard guys cross over. I have posted the same thread topic on multiple forums to get the most input possible. Remember guys we are all one big Nutty FAMILY.
 
For sales / orders; only contact the proper company. For information on your non-Ganza order only contact the company who's knife you ordered.

But for Ganzas, shows, and even ads where the companies are all represented in one place...well...if you have to order a Rat by e-mailing a Busse girl...that's your contact unless otherwise instructed. Heck, I've had my Kin orders go the Jerry as part of Ganza (and even another time or two ;)) instruction.

Yep, but I can understand Scrap Yard getting a lenient hand as they get no representation over here on BF, but we do have a Swamp so it makes sense to get the Swamp threads over here. :D If its a free for all, it honestly makes little sense to have a separate forum. See my point? :)

Sorry, I had a minor in Logic in college, so I tend to see things differently. All Swamps are Busse's but not all Busse's are Swamps. :p
 
I'd say that Swamp traffic belongs here and in the actual Swamp Chat.

I see a reason for this sub-forum, there are a lot of people who turn here for info on Swamp knives, pity most of them never make it over to the Swamp, it's a nice and cosy place, but could use some 'fresh blood'.

On the other hand, Scrap Yard content is rather limited on BF and for that it would seem that Yard has the most active chat from the Kin companies.
 
I like our little community over at the rat chat :)

Less people = more of a relationship with everyone. Over there, there is never any fights or disputes and People dont hop in others threads just to disagree with them.

Its more of a close knit family and im thankful for that! Here everyone for the most part just reads posts and responds, there is so many members here its hard to get to know everyone, but there we actually build a friendship with each other. Here i see screen names or avatars but over there i see actual people. If that makes any sense lmao

If it wasnt for rat chat i wouldnt really know you Elof, or Hindsight, magoo, aaaa-cccc, N2k, and you other guys whose names escape me at the moment (sorry lol) And I might not ever have gotten to know Ian or Carl and that would be horrible honestly, you are a good bunch of guys.

So rock on with our little community! Rat Chat is awesome the way it is IMHO :)

Nicely stated. But it's small size is also a disadvantage. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread...it'd be nice if we had fewer options to chat the Rat.

I know one thing...some of our requested ideas will bring in more participation if ever a real go gets going...just sayin'.

Achieving a JYD# and hunting for the matching challenge coin keeps that fun alive too. Some even chase the 10K...but I did the nonsensical posting to JYD and felt a bit silly posting like that....fun, but silly.

Good people hang out on each of the Kin forums!
