Swayback Jack

These are nifty little knives. I like the single blade gents. I'd like it better if the wharny blade and handle were just a little longer. It'll be one of my custom orders in the future.

My damascus and stag swayback is being delivered today, I can't wait to get home from work!

Nice post up a few pics ofnthe blade i would like to see the damascus pattern.

So I got my damascus and stag Swayback today and it's gorgeous, but I'm annoyed about the finish on the edges. Out of the box both blade edges were so rough and jagged that when I stropped them down my pant leg (edge trailing) they'd snag and pull up cloth fibers. Not even paper slicing sharp, more like little saw blades! My camera wont focus well enough to take a clear photo of the edges. I cleaned them up quickly with a DMT fine and extra fine hone, but I feel for the money I spent the blades should be finished before they get to me.

Overall I'm pleased with it...now.

I agree. That is unacceptable. At least it was something you could fix yourself without having to send the knife to Case but Case should have done it right in the first place.

Stag & Damascus huh? Sounds like a beautiful knife! Would love to see some pics of that beauty!

I'm having lighting issues, so this is the best I can do at the moment.

Oh man, that is sweet! It just doesn't get much better than Stag & Damascus and your Swayback looks great. Congrats on a great knife and thanks for the pic.

+1 That is a sweet little knife!

I've got these three and one in Chestnut bone and CV. Great little knives!

You guys finally talked me into it. I ordered two for myself as a late birthday present. F+F is excellent, I just wish the springs were a wee bit stronger. Shown with my only other case pattern - medium stockman.
ETA - I've had a chance to carry and use it for a few hours now - awesome knife.

I knew I shouldn't open this thread! Now I want a damascus swayback. Sure wish they did it in orange g-10 with damascus. :D

I can't get myself to carry my damascus swayback and actually use it in the same manner that I use my Peanut, so I just ordered a CV chestnut. Would any of you have trouble using the damascus for EDC?

I bought a stag/damascus single blade sowbelly a couple years ago and the edge was exactly as you describe it. I just don't feel like there was any real attempt at putting an edge on it. I feel your pain on this. It did sharpen up nicely, but really? Especially for the price of them.

One of my favorite patterns, (you can tell I'm a knife knut I think I say that about every knife I own ;) ) I was given the SBJ by a member here

I still carry your Sowbelly quite frequently Ed, thanks again. It's a great pattern in a single blade folder.
