Swords

I'm not so sure about that... I see plenty of "Zombies" on the road here in Cali, staring at their smart phones and crashing into things in their cars. :grumpy:
Then there's the "Walking Smart Phone Dead" walking into walls, sign posts, and sometimes traffic...
....ahhh! Man!!!!..... You've got me there! ..... Still laughing......

Back to swords...
I'd love to see a Busse take on a Claymore and a Scottish Basket hilt broad sword! That would ROCK!

Of course I'd LOVE a Busse Scottish Dirk and a Sgian Dubh!!!!!----:D---

Yup to all the above.... But that Claymore would weight a ton and cost a year's wage:eek:

I've got a Arms & Armor Claymore that is equipped with a shorter blade. Didn't think the full length one would be very manageable.

No Kiddin' Nox!!! That much INFI might case a shift in the balance of the universe!

Okay so I'll "Settle" for a basket hilt, Dirk and Sgian Dubh!!!!! ;)
OINK! :pig:

"ninja swords" are fictional.

Sort of my point; if one can't define it, how is Busse supposed to make one?

Busse has made multiple swords over the years, but no one say exactly how a 'Ninja sword' would be substantially different from any of those.

I guess I was going for the image that Hollywood has imprinted in atleast in my mind a some what short straight blade tanto point? Now I still haven't looked at the scrapyard offering and that may very well be it to be honest they all are pretty much it cuz I did ask for the Busse take on 1. I don't know if they did or did not exist that is for IMO a Japanese historian to answer. I just thought it maybe neat?

Hey Otter,

The Scrapyard version comes pretty close to the Hollywood version. Handle wrap & all. Tough little mother. Type in scrapizashi in YouTube the Yard made a nice vid on it. I just wish someone would come up with an alternative ( and more durable) for the handle wrap. Great little beast of a cutter IMHO .....

It was made in SR77....

Ninja-to: 16" straight blade, V ground with a straight-edge point, fukura-kareru.
The tsuba is square. This prevents the sword from rolling when it laid down and the four corners can be used for impacts.

I know it was a handmade craftsmen sword (don't know the maker) but I watched a Samurai sword cut through a piece of steel pipe....If Busse could make a knife/sword be able to accomplish the same thing (no blade damage mind you) I would be MORE than willing to pay the prices they charge for their pieces...

The ninjato was made up in the '80s by the founder of Bujinkan, which was really just a theoretical "what would have worked best for them" idea, but nothing that actually existed in feudal Japan (which is why you won't find any old ones). "Ninja" would just use what was readily available, but also what fit their espionage. So if they were infiltrating a castle dressed as a samurai, they would have the normal katana/waki combo. And I'm sure the standard katana was the most commonly used weapon among them, considering that a good portion of them were more than likely samurai as well.

But there was no ninja forge cranking out straight-blade, squared-tsuba short katana. That's a completely new idea. Now if Busse or 'kin made a Kusarigama........that could be very, very cool.

Okay! I finally saw the scrapyyard offering. That's pretty much what I had pictured and now yet another 1 to add to the list! I still need a wak to go with my ruk, but I'll get there!

Yep! ^
A fellow HOG is holding a Red & Black Scrapizahi for me. I just need to round up the cash.

If you search Scrapizashi on you tube, there is a nice vid made by Scrapyard knives. I think that we can see Lora chopping some bottles. A member on BF has posted vids of a coconut being chopped by one:eek:

That's a great vid Nox!

I like the part around 1:50 where the wall hanger Katana gets turned into recycling material!------:D

^^^^ yup.... Great little sword. My first Busekin. Bought 3. Gave the 2 others to my best friends to celebrate over 35 years of friendship.

.... I just wish that I could find some other handle than the original handle wrap. Either that or coat it in clear epoxy. Scared to use the sword and ruin the wrap.

My best friend trimmed his entire hedge with his Skizzy. His hedges are 30 years old, span about 200 feet in length, and 12 feet high. He admitted the blade could have been a bit sharper ( he's a sharpening freak ) but he did the entire job nonetheless. His sweaty palms ruined the handle wrap so he did a paracord job on it.
