I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 from the user "symphonyincminor" and in his ad, stated that the phone in question was unlocked. IN contact emails, he stated the same fact.

On receipt of the phone, the phone COULD NOT be unlocked, and when customer service was contacted, I was told that the phone in question was not eligible to be unlocked.

I have contacted the user numerous times about a refund, and to no avail. I am now in contact with Paypal about a refund. I will never trust this user again. I have sold numerous items on this forum, and bought even more from other users without a problem in the past. I want to give the user the benefit of the doubt but since he has not contacted me in any respect, simply put, they are not worth the time of day.

How long has it been since you first tried to contact him and how did you contact him? In the end, Paypal is your best bet provided you paid Goods and Services. I'll send him a message letting him know about this thread.

The phone was purchased 15JUL2016, and received shortly afterwards, funds were sent via G&S. Several emails sent to him without a response. And now, negative feedback left and a visitor message left as well letting him know of his actions or lack thereof.

edited: as of 1015 EST 24JUL2016 I have filed a dispute with PayPal over the item.

Good on you to use PP G&S, the only way anyone should ever buy anything from a stranger....

As long as you have all correspondence, PP will make you whole.

Thanks for the heads up....

Granted, this has been my only negative experience since I signed up for BF, buying or selling. It's really a bad experience that in my whole time up to now, that this had to happen. Hopefully I can get this all figured out and just get another phone, this time from the dealer.

Wow, that's unfortunate. I bought a knife from him about a month ago, and it went smoothly. I hope he gets a chance to respond.

I know I had a great experience dealing with you. Thanks for letting us know about this.

It was a 2-day window from sending me an email regarding this issue, to not only leaving me permanent negative feedback on my account, to starting an entire thread on this issue.

Here is my email response:

"Tony,

I was out of town over the weekend attending to some personal business.

Please know that I that I sold the phone with good intentions.... I bought the phone as unlocked, used it sparingly for a couple months, and decided to sell it. I may have found out why it will not work - the serial number was still tied to the account I had it on. I have since removed it from the account (ignorance on my part, I thought removing the SIM card and wiping the phone would be the only thing I needed to do).

I urge you try it again. If it does not work, a full refund is of course the only course of action. I will pay to have the phone shipped back.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Christopher"

I have prided myself to do honest business on these forums for over 11 years, and will continue to do so.

I will be monitoring this thread closely.

Figured it was something simple. I couldn't see this seller turning rogue after all this time on the site and being a good member. Glad ya replied tho and cleared yourself

Wow, two days seems like a small amount of time to go taking this situation to this kind of level. People do have lives; now it would be different if it were two weeks. OP - is it true that you did not wait even two days?
If so, sounds like the tables have turned here.

I trust that when this issue is resolved to the satisfaction of the OP, as I am certain it will be, that the title of this thread will be edited to reflect a happy outcome rather than the OP's initial frustration.

I agree that it was way too early for the OP to leave negative feedback.

The neg feedback trigger was pulled a little early on this one for a member with lots of pos feedback and no hint of skullduggery in a long list of deals. I understand the frustration of feeling ripped off and wanting an immediate resolution but . . . anyway, glad this looks to be a problem now solved.

I suggest the OP verifies the phone works now, reports back, and asks to have the neg feedback removed (assuming that resolves the issue).

Buyer didn't even wait 2 days to bash the shit out of the seller......who answered as soon as he could with a solution and a good reason for not replying sooner. Should we use the buyer's MO and start blasting him for not coming here and replying?
Does the phone work now?
Change title maybe?
Ask Sparky to remove negative FB?
Joe

I proposed a refund and the phone is in route back to me.

Sometimes a perceived lack of communication can makes situations more tense.

I have always sold knives and gear on this forum with honest intentions, and have always made things right, regardless of the circumstances.

My hope is that the buyer will re-consider the negative feedback left on my permanent record. That is up to his and the moderator's discretion.

+1 people's track record is important to them, destroying them with out adequate timing and reason should be infractable.
