• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I've slowly warmed up to the GEC acrylics. I've also got a few old Case knives in CV and yellow synthetic, but they don't do as much for me as the funky and unique acrylics of GEC. That said, I still prefer bone or wood scales.

I'll admit that I'm not sure what this scale material is, but I think it is black bakelite or phenolic. It could be bone, but it is totally uniform in color which make me think it is a thermoset plastic of some kind.

That's kind of the selection of synthetics that I can show. I have more knives with synthetics that I could show but the materials would be duplicates of these.

Nice stuff, Ed! I like those Gerber Silver Knights of yours. Those old Gerber's were nice knives.

I always did like them. I have a couple of pearl handled ones that I carry. Some of the other pearl sits in the storage box. When I carry one, it will generally be one of the two blade wood scaled ones or the 3 blade 250C. I have a kraton rubber one that I carry some, too.
