Alright, I'll bite...seen it a lot, what does the 'light switch' do? Lock?

It is a lock for the main blade. It's not the most elegant mechanism but it works. The switch pushes a lock bar forward through a hole in the liner. It's a nice knife and takes a great edge.

They seemed to have borrowed part of the design of a slide switch.

I've slowly warmed up to the GEC acrylics. I've also got a few old Case knives in CV and yellow synthetic, but they don't do as much for me as the funky and unique acrylics of GEC. That said, I still prefer bone or wood scales.

I like your shot of this!

Been waiting delivery of a White Owl in the Kryptonite, a dealer I've not used before and he's taking his time over it...:grumpy::grumpy:

GEC acrylics can be outstanding, check their Tortoise

Thanks Jake!

Those look great, Trand! The denim look of the Scout is very cool. I'm guessing it's Canvas Micarta. Is there a name for that shade of blue? Awesome!

Thanks guys. The scout is blue denim micarta and I was told it was "standard denim blue". The #53 is green canvas. They are both polished but the denim is noticeably grippier than the canvas. The scout also swells out from the bolster to the cap end.

Here are some Imperial Frontiers with Delrin and wood scales.

Trand, thank you. I always loved canvas/textured micarta, I've seen some awesome green's and orange's...but this one probably beats them all. I don't know who made it for you, but whoever that might be, he did an amazing job.

You are welcome. You know, if I had to ask for a custom made knife in a "relatively large" pattern, I guess I would send the maker my favourite jeans and ask him to make a matching denim micarta :)
This is what this subforum is about...spreading addiction

They could match it if you had a second pair for them to make the micarta out of :) I'm pretty sure that's how denim micarta is made. There's a couple of videos on the internet showing people make their own micarta out of jeans if you're interested in the process.

I thought that's how they made it too...I'll find some old jeans with a good dark worn color. ;)
Unfortunately, my denim micarta custom (or customized) knife will have to wait...but I do stare at yours in the meanwhile :)
