The handle material is called galalith, an early form of plastic.

I’ve googled galalith, and it typically looks much simpler than the elegant handle of your knife. Are you sure it’s not masur birch?

Yes, its white and pink, the color of uncooked bacon, and its not wood....

This is masur birch, which is a grain configuration found in Karelian birch

Not all galalith was simple monochromatic plastic.

That would be fireflies right? Because glow worm sounds like lysmask in Swedish
I wish I’d see some fireflies. They are supposed to be relatively common also where I live (100 km west of Stockholm) but I don’t recall seeing any…
