I may have identified my grail knife.

Totally impressive design and implementation.

I'm looking forward to hold this in my hand. It's exactly what I hoped it should look like when I ordered it, and exactly what I need in a folding knife. A daily user this one. Thanks again, Todd.

Todd,
The blade combination is PERFECT.
I like how the contours of the blades match above the liners when closed.
EXCELLENT PROPORTIONS end to end.
HANDSOME and CLASSY FOLDER.

I also agree with Frank and Jeff.
This is one of Your FINEST.

Tore,
You are getting a GREAT FOLDER.

+1 on what Tim said. I also find smaller wharncliffe and large spear (or clip point) about as practical as it gets with 2 blade pattern.

Todd - do you know what is the weight of that knife?

You guy are too kind - Thanks!

And............this is why I love this thread. Another home run! These patterns are so beautiful. Do they come in black? :D

I am gonna start saving my pennies, till I have enough to buy one of these beautiful knives. Then I'm gonna proudly use it for an EDC.

You're on the right track. A bit of advice. I currently own 8 of Todd's knives with another in the works right now. They are all top quality, fine pieces of cutlery.

When you get your pennies and dollars saved up, go through every picture you can find of Todd's knives and find the attributes that you like most. Save pictures of those knives so that when you contact Todd you can say, "Kind sir, I would love to have a knife made by you. I'd like this pattern in this size, in this handle material, with this style blade and steel, this bolster and shield, etc." Add or subtract any little nuance that you want. Wait a few months and be amazed at the final product.

Or you can choose to buy from his individual sales threads or even write Todd and say, "here's $X, make me whatever you feel like!"

Regardless, you should be happy but if you want one for EDC, I highly recommend that you have it made exactly to your standards. This was the EDC that I asked Todd to make me and he nailed every single part of it to the T. This was my 6th Davison but the first one I specifically designed with EDC principles in mind.

3-5/8" closed, CPM-154, green canvas micarta and pinched bolsters. No shield but I asked Todd to coin the liners all the way around the frame for some subtle embellishment. Glad you obliged Todd!

Thank you for the sage advice. Jsega51.
I know I want a swayback wharnie, but not sure which covers.

Your green micarta is sweet, and your collection is inspiring.

Time to thin the heard to raise some cash.

Great photos Jake -

What the "perfect" 2 blade (1308) so aptly shows and along with every TAD folder posted here, is Todd's innate sense of Artistry. By "innate" i mean it's just there, inside Todd, an integral part of him.
Many knife makers have good workmanship (but only a few at Todd's high level) yet their knives don't speak to us in the compelling way of a TAD folder. That is because artistry is just as important as workmanship.
Todd always gets his lines, curves, proportions & materials to flow together and compliment each other to create a beautiful 'whole', in this case, knife. This flowing together to create something that attracts us is known as "Art", whether it be a painting, sculpture, knife, etc.
Technical skills are learned but I think artistic ability has a genetic basis. Todd has this innate artistic ability which is why his knives are as fine and attractive as any being made.
Right now i am carrying a very fine TAD, clip blade, mammoth covers with a lanyard hole ! Don't know the number, i think in low 900's ? I'll post back with a picture.

Thanks for the kind words KJ, means a lot to me.
I've had to make a lot of knives, to get where I'm at now, and still keep trying to get better.

Thank you all very much.

I have to agree. But I also wanna comment on the fact that not only does he turn out a great and beautiful product, but he also stands behind it. Had one I got from him that after a weather change lost a little snap on closing. He paid shipping both ways and had it back to me in less than 10 days fixed perfectly. Not only is he good at it, but he stands behind them.

Can't wait to get my 4th one in and hopefully have my next one built later this year.

Good score on that carbon fiber beauty from David, SVT. I've talked to him a few times about it, you're in for a treat!

Any specific plans for your next one??
