T~bone Tuesday

ya know, everyone talks about how cool the pen blade is on a texas jack. but yours, like mine, and every other TJ i've ever seen on here has a patina on the clip and none on the pen :D
i guess folks just arent using the pen for food so it just never gets patina'd ;)
Oh that... Well I was experimenting with patinas on that knife when I took that pic. I had been using the main blade for a lot of fruit cutting, but not the pen blade.

Turk, I really enjoy seeing the photos of your green 81 Abilene. The coloration of the green bone is just about perfect, so deep and rich, yet vibrant at the same time. And, I think I like the Tidioute version over the Northfield on this pattern -- the plain bolsters just seem to suit a large stock knife better than the embellished ones, IMO.
Each time you post yours, you make me want one of my own!
(Currently, I don't think I even have a single stockman in my quiver, any more. If I purchase another stockman in the near future, I hereby vow to make it an 81. Preferably greeeeeen. :D )

If you're thinking about a stockman I highly recommend the 81. And if you're thinking about an 81 I highly recommend the green! Originally I wasn't 100% attached to the knife as a whole but now it is becoming a constant companion and all of its attributes work so well together.
