Here's some T-bone that just came into my possession yesterday.
These are both Robeson knives.

One is a (Grand?)Daddy Barlow, with sawcut handles (it's tough to make out, almost worn smooth, but if you look closely you can see the marks), in what I believe most people call "strawberry bone." This one is significantly darker/richer than my other example of this bone on a nearly identical knife.

The second is a 3.75" Jack, with some really pocket-worn pickbone covers. Natural color? Maybe a really light brown dye? Maybe toasted, originally? The jigging is almost gone, but the bone is still really pretty in my eyes. I'm sad that the light wasn't better (or maybe it's just my photography), because these photos really don't do it justice. It's so smooth and shiny, and has a richness that I was not able to capture.

Heres an old Davenport knife i saved from a painters box...It was totally covered in paint and putty and i expect that is what preserved the bone so well..The bolsters have a yellowish hue..Although the blade is well worn,it locks up tight with good snap...Good old knife......Fes

Grand bone indeed Fes, and a clever shot with that bowl.

Here's my 25 Spear

Thanks, Will

I love the look and feel of bone on a knife . but my my stills at photography aren't good :D and don't show the real beauty of the bone . I would love to see your pics and collection of folders and fixed blade bone handles . here's mine . .

Hi black mamba . you have some lovely bone there . I particularly like the brown saw cut bone

R.c.s., the brown sawcut is from Rough Rider, so very inexpensive but good quality. I have quite a few patterns in that bone.

Easy peasy. We'll just merge it. No harm, no foul.
