Today’s pile:
I sit here and stare at the last 13 years of The Blade Forum’s, Annual, Traditional Forum knife.
I remember every knife and the learning curve and growing pains involved in bringin’ over 13 years of knives to the community.
People sure are passionate about their knives.
Beyond that though, what I remember most? The learning, the camaraderie and the long nights of discussions. We talked about every minute detail whether it was relevant or not.
I’ve made many friends over the last 13 years while debating the pros and cons of long pull or short pull nail nicks and what side they should go on when having a 2 blades knife made.
The building of the Traditional Forum’s annual knife is a yearly event that brings many of the members from throughout the forum to visit the more traditional patterned knives.
During the process of building/designing the pattern we get a few converts from tactical edge of the community to the more laid back, porch chair rockin’, cold drink sippin’, tall tale tellin’, slip joint tradin’ part of the community.
A more respectful part of the forums where you’d be proud to invite your mom to.
Ok, maybe not that corny but a great place nonetheless where it’s family safe, full of great people, generous people and wealth of knowledge. Oh and some of the best pictures of traditional knives anywhere on the internet. Heck, we have Coop, Sharp by Coop, one of the greatest knife and weapons photographers in the community.
So this pile is for those folks, the ones who make up a big portion of the traditional community. You folks know who you are. You’re always around to answer questions, share your wisdom and stories.
This pile is for the collectors, the people who can’t rest till their collections are complete or at least as completed as possible.
For you folks collectin’ the annual forum knives, here’s one of, iirc 3 or 4 complete sets.
Cheers and kudos to all the members involved in bringing these about every year, despite the huge pain in the you know what it has to be. Here’s to another decade, another 10 dots on the Blade Forums tang stamp.
