Table At Blade Show!

Are you going to the show Friday and Saturday, then driving home, or just Friday, then driving home Saturday?

We'll be there (hopefully) around 2pm on Friday, stay Friday night and be there again part of the day Saturday. How long we stay on Saturday will depend on how much we get to see Friday and how long Brenda can tolerate looking at knives:confused:

I'm interested in just looking around, but yours and Koster's tables are the only ones I've noted on my layout of the floor (i.e. the only ones I'm intending to visit specifically). Unfortunately, I've bought so many knives off BF in the last few months, I have no real knife fund to play with; therefore, I'll probably only be picking up one for myself:(

I forgot to mention that it looks like you're well on your way past 10 blades for the show, which is good because I think yours will move quickly.

I've got 18 blades for the table, and one finished blank for Rayban.

Thanks for remembering me Andy...it was very nice to meet you and I hope your first show was a success. I had a great time but I'm sure I didn't see everything......next year it's all three days for me.

I'll be starting on the blade as soon as I get unwound.:)

Thanks again,
RG

I enjoyed talking to you also Scott. I hope you come down next year!! I got the table reserved again, and if you want, we can split it!

Sounds like a productive weekend then, Andy? Glad to hear it.

Had a great weekend. I didn't sell out or anything. But I sold enough to pay for the weekend, and made great contacts too. I'll be posting some of the ones I still have as soon as I figure out which go to the Woodsmonkey folks for review.

Andy,
Thanks for putting up with me Friday at the BS. I came by your table so many times to see if I could wear out your knives that you finally gave me my own seat in the aisle, now that's service. I had a great time deciding which one of your fine knives to go home with and ended up with the Bushcrafter Cocabola over Osage and am very glad I did.

Great user designs and craftsmanship, keep it up!!

I didn't sell out or anything.

Definitely a sign of the current state of our economy. Even though I'm a Blade Show novice, I think any other year you'd have been wiped out the first day. Although I didn't scour every square inch of the show, I didn't see any other maker whose handles rivaled the craftsmanship of Andy's. Hopefully what they say is true and the economy will rebound later part of this year and you'll be poised for an even better show next year!

I will say that Andy's handles are second to none. I used my Woodsman to prep dinner the other night (oh, and it makes a great camp knife:thumbup: Built a fire with nothing but the WM and a match. Chopped, batonned, and shaved very well. Still will pop hair off my arm:D:eek:). The handles on these knives are just as ergonomic as they get.

I know it sounds weird, but you know what the finish on the grip reminds me of? My grandfather's hands. Hands worn so hard and so long that they aren't even rough anymore. Just very smooth and secure like warm stone. Sorry, I'm still just giddy with my purchase:D:thumbup:

Thanks for the Purchase Fred. I think your purchase was a turning point for me. This was my first show, and so every sale up to now has been on the net. For someone to spend that much time with my knives before selecting and purchasing one was really neato. And with the show slow, it was super nice having someone to talk to for a while!

So was the show affected by the economy compared to previous years?

You've been there several times right FB? Less people or same people buying less?
