Tactical fixed.

Good question ... here's the knife which my team has developed for the special forces of the Russian army and the FSB, I think this is a very comfortable handle. This knife has very tough test in a special unit of the FSB, including non-recourse throwing 6 meters so the handle is smooth on the sides at their request. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1TAHHge9NY

Absolutely beautiful. You, Sir, have created a "grail" military knife.

I would think the smooth handles would be a little slippery in the cold or with gloves. Any particular reason they wanted them smooth ?

I wrote - for throwing. From specification for future combat equipment "Barmica": "3.2.8.12. Requirements for combat knife - providing engage manpower and service animals of opponent with a muscular force of serviceman by contact hitting and throwing different grip of the knife at a distance of 2-12 meters. For use in a combat knife as the bayonet must use special tool (removable or constructively provided in the knife). The use of anchorages shall not reduce the combat performance of the knife. "

I will say one thing you guys definitely put a lot of effort into throwing and hand to hand skills compared to most army's .

Hi Makandr do you have any pics of the Spetsnaz ballistic knives ? I remember reading about them in SOF magazines back in the 80s ?
