Hey makandr, I figured you might know the answer to this but why do those folding bowie exist? I just don't get why they wouldn't just carry around a fixed blade. It is simply for legal reasons or is there a deeper function I'm missing?

Hi. No need to carry two knife - a folding and fixed, 90 percent of the work can be done by these folded blades. You only need to open them in an emergency situation.
