Yep, it actually has too much bite. Its my utility/ranch knife so i plasti-dipped it. Made all the difference in the world. Just one dip. The handle was chipped up quite a bit as the scales aren't the best material, so i took a dremel to smooth out some of the damaged pieces and some of the sharper factory edges before dipping. I trimmed the rubber off the prying device with a razor. If I were to try my hand at making scales I would start with this one. If you were asking about the prying device, i took some of the edges down with a file as it was sharper than what it needed to be for pulling nails, etc. Same treatment I usually have to do on any pistol under $500. The Hoffner knife is perfect as is.i have the same ultima, does yours hurt your hand on the bottom pommel talon?

I've been known to dremel off unwanted parts on firearms and I wouldn't think twice about cutting that off if I didn't use it either. I've made cuts into a stainless Colt Officers slide with an unreinforced cutting disk but I'd probably go with the fiber reinforced one to be safe.yeah i have large hands and the prying talon just dug into my hand, i love the knife other wise though
I'm diggin those IWB scabbards. My fixed EDC.
