"Tactical" Hawk With Hammer Poll (No Spike)?

Yes...the K5 TAC hawks are built like tanks: the are heavy. And like I said: getting that dude to ship you one can be a painful experience. I ended up selling my K5 spike hawk and I now regret it greatly.

He is. And he is also very adept at turning "2 weeks" into 2 months. ;)
2 months my ass.

I wouldn't want The foin Mr. Killian to think I was doin' 'im a disservice o' not tellin' the fool story. He screwed me proper. 18 months o' waitin' after he took me 'ard earned money. No communication on his part unless I prompted 'im. Even then I 'ad to wait upwards of a month for a response from the good lad. In the end I asked for me 'ard earned money back. And it took me callin' 'im a thief on this forum to get it. Paybacks are rough. I've got a wee bit o' the Irish in me, too, Mr. Killian.

I'm pushing the Estwings - look at the drywall hammer, and the Rigger's Axe. Sure, they need some paint and a sheath, but the price is right, and quality is fantastic. Please post if you know of a broken one.

Go ahead and grind a Rigger's Axe down to a different shape if you want. You're less than $50 in the hole for it, it's made of 5160 steel, what's not to like?

Oh yeah, wait time is real low - like a week, maybe ten days. Production doesn't have to mean poor.

Asked him about this and he said:

"Yes, I make poll hawks and such when asked specifically by a customer. It isn't a problem and we treat them the same as any other hawk we make. The Heavy-ugly and the Baton-hawk are well made and are used for different purposes. Camp chores, cinder blocks (though I never would reccomend it), kevlar helmets, 55 gallon steel drums (normal test medium after heat treat), vehicles, and steel cable have all been cut with the hawks. We don't pull any punches when it comes to a hawk. The normal weight of a heavy ugly is about a pound and a half, so take off a few more ounces for a hammer poll. I made them to be about the same striking point when used as a framing hammer so that there would be little adjustment to the user. Can you hit a nail on the head? You know where it will hit exactly. I don't have any left over right now- current wait time is 2 weeks."

I like the Heavy-ugly I have and Brad and Lisa have been good with service and answering questions- I haven't had a problem with anything at all from them. He even makes lanyards and such!
