tactical pants recommendation

I have a couple of pairs of stryke pants from 5.11 and really like them. I have had them since they came out and still wear them. They are now starting to show signs of wear and will need to be replaced I will buy thesame ones as they have held up well considering that I wear them all the time.

I like the TAD F10's, but mine are cargo pants as I am not tactical

While not tactical, I bought one, then two more of "Carhartt's Cotton Ripstop Relaxed Fit Work Pant"--they are tough and can fit the tactical role if necessary... though they really are work/ hike pants. Which suits me needs--may be worth a look.

Just leaving this here.

Not sure this is what you are going for...

For me, cargo style pants like the style Columbia makes are a nice compromise. Big pockets. Sturdy build. Casual aesthetics.

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Pics of the girl or pics of the glasses? The girl was a few years ago so pictures aren't possible, the glass were 5.11 wiley X frames. They lasted another year after that then we're lost in a tragic drunk sking accident, it sorts they don't float, which was the only drawback I found to them

No good reason to be rude to a fellow Busse fan. It's not for you to say if dingy really 'needs' anything or not. If he wants something and you can help, please help; if you can't help, please just move on by.

I have tried 511, vertx, and tad. Everything but the tad pants, I have turned into work pants. I didn't care for them. I have force 10 pants, shorts, for cargo pants, and a couple other models for variety sake. What's nice about tad is you can get some pants that are made of some more tactical fabric, but not so tactical looking. Hell, I have blue jeans made by tad, and their badass! Oh and American made is a big plus too.

My wife wears the pants.... just sayin'. :o

I had 511's- not sure of the model. They are great, but a bit pricey. I have to dress 'casual' for work. I found Gander Mountain Guide Series hiking pants better for me. Plus anything happens to them I take 'em back and get a new pair free.

S&S precision came out with some denim pants designed for conceal carry that are pretty interesting.

I've worn Levis since I was a kid back in the 50s and now that I'm retired and no longer have to wear suits or slacks and sport coats to work, Levis were what I wore all of the time until I bought my first pair of 5.11s and a pair of 5.11 shorts about 12 years ago. I now have half a dozen pair of 5.11 cargo pants. I love them! Plenty of pockets to carry "stuff" and since I live near a college, they don't garner a second look. They are very comfortable and durable. I like the original cotton canvas ones. I also have a couple of "tactical" vests that I wear with Levis because of the extra pockets for carrying "stuff". Again, no one gives me a second look because of the wide variety of clothing styles worn in this area. And as far as "getting shot first because you are wearing 'tactical' clothing", I want to see anyone post a documented case where it occurred!!!! That is another "urban myth"! And BTW, I carry every day, every where it is legal to do so --- and I very rarely go anyplace that it isn't legal to do so. If another concealed carrier thinks I'm carrying because I have on 5.11 cargo pants or a vest with my Levis, so be it, I don't care. And the "sheep" are too oblivious to notice a gun being carried openly, let along figure out someone is carrying concealed just because of how they are dressed!!! Just my .02 based on experience.:)

I normally hunt in some form of surplus camouflage, on my recent foray to The Dark Continent this was a no no (local laws in Moz) so a few months ago I grabbed a couple of pairs of 5.11 pants and some shirts. One pair of pants are the Stryke series and the other Taclite I think. I wore them around here a good bit before I left and constantly for the three weeks I was away. I could not be happier with them. The Stryke take a bit of getting use to (for me) due to that slight stretch in the material, just felt different to the uniform pants or jeans I normally live in. I will buy more.

Right - they can be useful for hiking, hunting, work in general... the military doesn't hold a monopoly on utility.

Some of the more comfortable ones I've worn are the tru spec Bdu series available in multiple colors and very comfortable. The Ops tactical pants are very well made and have lasted really well too. 5.11 are ok I never cared for the pocket sizes though. Crye are very well made and long lasting too, just a tad expensive.

I have a few pairs of 5.11 Tactile pants that I wear just as hiking/ yard work pants that I bought as a way to spend a gift card, and they've held up quite well for a lightweight pants, but I've really come to prefer my Riggs work pants by Wrangler. They're made of a nice tough ripstop material, with nicely laid out side cargo pockets, cordura lined rear pockets, and a leather reinforced front right pocket corner where the clip on a folding knife wears most pants. I wear them at work, where I'll destroy Carhartts in about two months to the point they're nearly unwearable, and these pants are still nearly new looking (other than the burn holes from weld spatter) after 6 months. They may not be "tactical", but they've really impressed me so far, and I'm rarely prone to give rave reviews on clothing, if ever. Definitely worth looking into IMO, if you're in the market for tough britches.

Look for pants that have wide belt loops and plenty of belt loops. I frequently carry fixed blades and a folder on the belt so a good wide belt is needed. Pants with extra belt loops distribute the load better with less chance of things sliding around.
