Tactical, Traditional, or Multi...

I would carry a Spyderco Stretch, just as I do most days now. Only difference would be that I would get one "a bit" more heavily customized than my current one. Would have all the clip holes filled, the bolsters engraved, the "landing pads" for the clip ground down and drilled out, and the kraton inlays replaced with checkered stabilized wood, probably curly koa. That way, I'd have something that combined total practicality with quiet elegance.

I am with blackwatch, small fixed blade, more utility based then tactical, Bark River most likely, though I have a SRK rattail on its way that might be my new edc.

If pushed into a corner...a SAK of some sort with ether G-10 or Alox and a self-installed pocket clip :D

I'd pick a tactical knife, folder or fixed, if I could have only one. Tactical knives can be used for utility, whereas many utility only knives lack a secure enough handle/guard for tactical use.

I'd go for my Leatherman Wave. It has all the tools of a SAK, but feels more rugged and has pliers. I have no real need of a tactical or fixed blade knife, so I think the Leatherman covers all the things I'm likely to use it for, plus it's sheeple friendly.

I've not had the chance to handle one of the new Leatherman tools, so for me the Wave is still the king.

I often need a Philips-head screwdriver, a nail file, a tiny eyeglass slot-head screwdriver, scissors, or a blade. Occasionally, I need a pair of pliers or wire cutters.

You have all that in a multi-tool, like a Leatherman or Swiss Tool.

Second choice would be a Swiss Army Knife, but then I'd be lacking a decent pair of pliers....the pliers on some models look too dainty!

Just having a blade would be very limiting to me, if that was all I was allowed to ........"carry every day".

It would have to be a full size multi-tool. This is because I looked at what I currently carry which is (on my key chain) Vic Rambler, Swiss-Tech 8in1 tool, P-38. I also carry a Vic Tinker and Boker Stockman. All of this parallels a full size multi-tool just in smaller packages that fit into my pockets, not in a sheath hanging off my belt. So the logical choice would have to be a full sized multi-tool as I use everything a multi-tool has regularly, except maybe the P-38 can opener.

Right now it would have to be my large Sebenza NICA tanto. Second would be my large micarta inlay classic.

Probably my Vic Super Tinker. It does everything I could ask of a knife and more. It is the most versatile knife I own. If I wanted a larger one hander it would be the SAK One Handed Trecker. both great knives.
