TacticalBlade...BAD TRADER!

Around 5-30-2011, TacticalBlade had a post in the trade section, offering his Jeff Hall Bounty Hunter for a Strider (he had a few different models listed). I contacted him via email and offered my SMF for The B.H. We agreed to trade and my SMF was shipped and received by
TacticalBlade in less than a week. He sent me an email later saying the B.H was shipped, but he never gave me the delivery confirmation #. About a month went by and after many emails and many other reason/excuses he said the B.H was shipped back to him and the post office was claiming that my address didn't exist (which i know is bs, since I've had over 100 knives mailed to me at that addy). But I figured the post office does make mistakes from time to time and maybe this was my time. TacticalBlade said he would send the B.H via UPS the next day (this was on July 21st), but again, no tracking or confirmation number and now he isn't answering my emails and is apparently ignoring me. I know I'll never get the B.H and I know if I asked for my SMF back, it would get "lost in the mail".

And I want to add that if by some fluke the Jeff Hall shows up at my door in the future and everything WAS a big misunderstanding...I will write a formal retraction and apology to TacticalBlade and post it as a follow up to this post.

I received the Jeff Hall Bounty Hunter today...all is well and I apologize for any negative feelings this post may have originally caused TacticalBlade...I have no hard feelings towards him and do not want anyone else to think of this event as a negative overall reflection of him as a member of this forum or as a person. We all have issues from time to time...this event occurred because of an issue in his personal life and while I don't like how things played out...it all worked out in the end.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.

this was the last time he logged in...

So he is keeping a low profile at the least. There is too much time elapsed for this to be anything less than fraud, get the postal inspector involved, put this guy on blast and see what the peanut gallery here has in the form of good advice.

I know that I shipped a watch in a trade and it went on Mr Toads wild ride but the issue was resolved in about two weeks once the problem was spotted (USPS goofed on the ZIP transposing #'s) but over a month? I have had khuks sent from Nepal that take less time than that...

You should not have waited this long. Do you have signed delivery confirmation on the SMF you shipped to him?

Bryan-No, like an idiot, i didnt send the SMF with a signing requirement...ive had such good experiences with other members that i let my guard down :( but i know he got the SMF...he told me he received it
Zeke-I know brother...ive had stuff come from Australia that took less time than this...im hoping UPS goofed too, but without him sending me a tracking #, Im not sure if UPS will look up delivery status with only a sender and receiver name/addy.

I don't trade knives with someone who is not a personal friend, or at least a friend of a personal friend who can vouch for him. Just a rule of thumb I use....

In my experience, post as much information here about what went wrong. I had the same problem on another forum. It was an "Equal Value" trade. Only the other persons version of a BNIB knife and mine were unfortunately different and I got a POS that was definitely hard carried and dropped a few times.

A few suggestions would be to let them know that you were short changed and to hold up their end of the deal or sell their reputation for a (Probably) small dollar amount.

If you cant get in contact with them, post the details of the would be transaction if everything went smoothly, and what ended up happening. Continue trying to cantact them. If after a few days you get no response, contact them one last time pointing them to the GBU forum page and let them know that if within a reasonable amount of time, you dont hear from them, you will post any information you have of him which would probably end up being a username, address, city, potentially a personal email, and potentially a phone number in these forums. If the dollar amount is worth fighting for, get legal action. just make sure they intentionally screwed you first.

I had a guy I traded with send his knife to me. On the way to the post office to hold up my end of the deal, I got in a car accident that put me out of commission for a time. He was getting testy, but I was able to get word that I had been "Delayed" in getting him his knife before any harm was done and he was very understanding. Dont rule out a mistake before getting the facts straight with him.

That is all the rambling I have.

Since his previous post was so different from what we're reading now, I just sent him email pointing out this thread and asking him to respond here or to me.

thanks Esav..but this post was up before we spoke and agreed to trade...our "trade " didnt happen until the end of May. one of his delays was because three of his family member apparently died, which i totally understand will slow things up, but the excuses just never ended and now he just completely ignores my attempts to contact him. and when he said he does most of his communicating with his phone, i gave him my phone # immediately so he and i could communicate away from computers. I feel like Ive done everything in my power to make this as forgiving and easy for him, beside driving to Illinois and taking the knife out of his hands.

That is exactly the way I feel about it. I will never trade again with a person I have not done business with before, or whom I am not friends with on here. I would much rather just buy a knife or sell a knife to/from someone.

Hi Chris -

That is a bummer -

If this guy is in Orland Park area, I found this - He appears to make custom pens from kits -

http://pens-by-ryan.blogspot.com/

Also has a setup here:
http://www.robowoodman.net/html/about_the_artist.html
and he lists a phone number on one of these pages -
http://www.robowoodman.net/html/contact_us.html

Good luck - I hope there was just a misunderstanding and your knife is on it's way to you.

best regards -

mqqn

He has not been active on those pages.

Mqqn- I googled him too and saw the custom pen blog, thanks! ill keep my eye on him and figure something out...i more just want to warn everyone out there that this is the kind of person he is apparently and to be super cautious with trades and sales

Esav- He sent me an email, but no tracking number, I told him I would edit out his name when I get a tracking # and write a full apology, retraction and leave him positive feedback when/if I get either my SMF back, or the Jeff Hall we agreed to trade. Ive made this entire process as painless as possible for him, Ive given him over two months to mail me the knife he agreed to send me. I realize people get busy and have family issues, but when I give you my cell phone #, I dont see any good reason to not keep in contact with someone when a situation like this comes up.

Give an apology, why? I don't think you should do any of this. It appears that TacticalBlade was only moved to action because of Moderator activity, not from the goodness of his heart. Unless there's more to this story, you should leave his name out there for other's to be able to search & see.

I'd like to formally apologize to everyone right here on this serious mistake/lapse of judgement. I do not wish to share my personal life here and wont. I dont want anything other than my real name removed. I do not make a habit of scamming people, I try to be an honest person. shockjockey24 knows why i request my real name removed. I screwed up here and shockjockey24 will let you all know when it is made right. Thank you. And thank you Esav for pushing me in the right direction and helping me make this right as well.

I applaud your response and attitude. Well done.
