Still no delivery confirmation from our outfit in Afganistan on the last three I shipped on Feb. 11. One of the guys told me mail has been real slow lately because of certain impedences. I'll let you know when I know.

You are correct, I shouldn't have said that though it was aimed at that author of that particular book, my appologies :footinmouth. But I do want to know what is going on with that soldier.I am a Republican though and I just wanted to state, I didnt mean to hijack this thread I just am very openend minded and don't like to see other political parties put down for their beliefs that is all I really wanted to state. Forgive me. :)

Hey Brother sorry it's been awhile but things have
been getting busy here with the weather warming up.
Hope all is well there with you and yours. Let
everyone know we still check the forum to see the
latest...whenever we can and I think most of the guys
on the team have a new appreciation for custom knives
and the process of making them.

We haven't gotten mail in a while either so I'm sure
there are a few knives that you might have sent that
we haven't recieved yet, but I have faith in the
system as all the ones you have sent so far have made
it to us.

We originally decided to wait until all the knives
arrived untill we distributed them so the men could
choose the one best suited for each individual however
we all talked about it tonight and decided to pass out
the ones we already have that way they could be
carried and used as they were sent for (plus everyone
is killing each other to get their hands on them and I
can't hold them back any longer!!) So expect some
feedback via e-mails/pictures to the senders.

Thanks again for sticking with us brother, when times
get rough we always break open the "knife box" and
re-read the notes/letters that were sent with the
knives and it gives us satisfaction that there are
good people out there who support us in what we are
doing..I know I have said it a thousand times but it
still means alot..really..

I will make sure the knives we have already are passed
out to the guys and the others will have to wait.

Great knives Brian! Dang, those are gonna make our men happy and ready to go cut something! I wonder if they have big ropes to do a cutting contest. :D

Roger I appreciate your posting the latest from our soldiers. I'd been feeling bad that it took so long to get mine off because they were waiting to hand them out. Now I feel better. I'd much rather these guys start carrying what they have rather than hold everything up on account of a laggard like me.
 
I think thats really cool you guys sent them some quality blades it sounds like they really appreciate it, nice work.
 
Thanks Roger for posting. I think of our guys often. I pray for their safety. Those knives look great Brian. ;) They are gonna make a couple of soldiers happy when they get them.

Brian, those are fantastic! I think there right on the money for these guys.
I'm also glad to hear that they got to hand out the "Goodies" to the guys.
 
Any sheath makers looking in - I received one that needs a sheath. I don't do sheaths and my sheath maker has already voluntered to do my knife, so I won't impose upon him further. I don't want anyone making a knife for this effort to offer but if there is a willing sheath maker looking in that wants to help in this and make a nice sheath for a really good knife I'd be obliged. Otherwise I gotta send it over there without any clothing.

Dave, I have had you make me a sheath before for a customer knife. It was great. You make a very fine sheath. I will not send this knife to one of us that is already participating. If a sheath maker, and they are watching this thread, isn't interested I'll ship as is.

Roger I wouldn't offer if I wasn't totally willing to do it. Hell there are guys making two or three knives for this effort, I'd be honored to make a sheath. Only thing is, it'd be leather and I'm not sure that'd be jumpable... So maybe a kydex guy should do this one. But don't count me out yet, lemme know if I can help.
 
I'll keep your kindness and devotion to cause heavy in mind Dave. You done gave me 20 bucks to help on shipping costs. I'll remain stubburn for a spell. There is a damn good sheath maker out there somewhere that will step up. Let's wait a bit for him. It's just one little big knife.
