Tacticlol Knives II: The Return of Ridiculous

It's all good, and it keeps the knife world spinning around. Hey, if you can't be practical, at least be tactical!

Okay, I know they sell these things in BudK catalogues and some knife shows. But...has anyone here ever seen anyone actually crying/using one of these things outside a Youtube video?

For that matter, has anyone ever seen anyone actually buying anything like this at a knife/gun show???

I'm having trouble seeing even a hot pocket basement dweller buying these things. Kind of like a concept car at a car show; they're there to show but not for sale. Totally useless in all reality.

Guy from work owned around 20 of those pieces of junk.

He even trash talked me for buying Cold Steel since "I can get 5-10 knives for the price of 1 Cold Steel".

I challenged him to test entire bulk of his knives against my 2 Cold Steels, loser buys a lunch for the winner.

He agreed the challenge but never got time for it... and he doesn't even work here anymore, so I missed my chance at seeing those pieces of junk fall apart and free lunch... oh well :D

Found this gem on legit webshop that usually sells only nice stuff:

Blade steel: 5Cr15MoV
Price: 80€

LMAO :D

Well, the bottom one (of the ones I quoted) could certainly be a pikal knife (is pakal an alternate spelling I've never seen?) if he was holding it right. The top one looks like it's trying to be a karambit, but failing, and the middle one...I just don't know. Maybe it's for playing that game where you put your hand on the table and try to stab inbetween your fingers really fast and hope you miss your hand. Or maybe for those elaborate watermelon carvings.

That is Ameil Nash's work. (Most of them) are well thought-out defensive peices. The inward edge stuff is very effective at putting holes in things and ripping out. Far more intuitive than big stupid karambit strikes.

I have a double-edge small blade from him and it's very nice.

I'll go back to prac-tac now.

Probably not, since Todd was asking like twelve grand for that piece of poorly designed garbage a year ago. These days, I think it's been reposted for a "mere" $8,500 or whatever it was.

Didn't he win an award for that at a knife show he hosted?

ETA: Yup, I looked it up. He's a board member and director of the Knifemaker's Guild, and he won this award at their own show.

For those who may be interested, the P'kal is a recognized cutting tool, for serious social purposes. It has it's own martial arts discipline built around it, like Escrima, or sword and dagger.

It's just not very widely known outside of Prac-Tac.
