Everything about this knife is awful, but I can't get over the hollow grind on the tip. If you are going to use weird multiple grinds, at least use grinds that make sense. What is the point of a hollow ground "Tanto" chisel tip?

No it's not. Especially if you know how to use benthic knife that usually is a part of specific fighting system. One more time, I wrote this:

The part you obviously don't understand or know, is not the producing of two wound channels, but complicating the wound and specific knife that belongs to a specific fighting system,
otherwise you wouldn't consider this particular knife "tacticool".

Slicing isn't rocket science too. You can correct me if I'm wrong but my guess would be - in your line of thinking, this would go for "tacticool" too:

No, the Civilian is a purpose built defensive weapon. I understand the concept completely. What i am saying, and you are failing to understand is this Gil Hibben design is not part of any fighting system. It is a giant hunk of garbage. The bottom piece unscrews. Its not a full tang knife, there is an all thread in there which then screws into the blade.. It's dull. I have no idea what the steel is but I can say it does not hold an edge. It has horrible balance. It is better suited as a paper weight or a bludgeoning object. It weights like a pound or more. Just because a airsoft gun looks like a 9MM doesn't make it a 9mm. This is not Prac Tac, we are having fun, nothing more. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings by making fun of a knife I once owned and personally know to be a giant steaming pile. I don't really care about the "fighting system" you describe. I don't ever plan to get into a knife fight. I don't plan on training to be a knife fighter. If it came down to it I would use my knife if I had to, but at that point it's a safe bet my a$$ is toast. I would much rather use my brains, my feet and my phone.

It's specifically made to stab and slice in the same motion the hollow grind helps it to slice the "target" better while the flat ground section is stronger to better cut heavy outer garments. Duh. ;)

Are you understanding the "tacticlol knives" thread concept? The thread has been here longer than you have.
I do, and most of them are really this - "Tacticlol" Unfortunately there are few examples that may fit in the category,
but are far from lol design and the funny thing is, whoever is posting those don't know it.

I wasn't talking about Gil Hibben Design. You should know it, since I posted different picture and you quoted it.
The concept of complicating the wound however is the same, no difference there.

Are you sure that insulting the people that are bickering is the most effective way to get them to stop? My guess is no...

When your cry out "This is SPARTA!!" Your friends and enemies will be too busy trembling in fear, to point out that you got the wrong movie!

Same holds true here. We talking about knives in this thread, not members.

If you would like to discuss me, Whine & Cheese would probably be an excellent place.

I wouldn't grant you such an importance to discuss you more :)

Another Spyderco half job :) where is the end gone missing?

You said: "There is nothing tacticool in the two blades." That came across as "One Gil Hibben Blade, and one whatever else you posted." I i misinterpreted your statement, all i can say is oops, my bad. I only quoted the post so you would know I was addressing you, not because of whatever picture you posted. I was speaking directly about the Double Shadow. Obviously you are upset over this, and many other peoples opinion on an internet forum. This is obvious because of your frequent and Fervent response. Unfortunately the short of it is no one cares if these particular knives are purpose built or just silly. We are having fun here. If you can't deal with that stop reading. No one is forcing you here. I implore you to just let it go so this thread doesn't wind up closed or worse, in Whine and Cheese, where it will be lost to me forever.

Somebody introduce this person to url shorteners

Search "Google url shortener"
You're right... :D
One more of "those" lol knives for all the Dontknow N'Dontcares, before I go drink some beer:

So you're not gonna tell me how that design is useful? So you just wanted to post to get a reaction, but not actually provide any info? What's that called again?

Now THIS is tacticlol:

Been in a bunch of movies, including the Fifth Element.
With the double point, it isn't even good for opening letters, which is something most daggers are good at.

Low-end steel, questionable construction, no practical use...yet I bought it recently, BECAUSE it sucked. :)
Oh yeah, it also isn't very sharp...but if you ding the tip against the desk, it makes a passable tuning fork. :D

I love this design! I know it may be fork for some, but some just love it.I have seen Gil Hibben Double Shadow dagger for first time when I was a young boy of age about 12-13, when it appeared in one knife magazine (about or over 20 years ago), I was mesmerised by it at the time and since than I never seen these knives again, just about year ago, when I was browsing Knifecenter online shop. It's pity, that the knife is not made out of tougher steel.....Beautiful design I think.
