TAD Production Dauntless

Buying anything from TAD is an exercise in frustration. I bought a box of gear from them many years ago, including a knife, and it was a smooth transaction. However, since they have become the tac gear equivalent of Gucci it is extremely difficult to get stuff, they always seem to be sold out of everything. Plus their international shipping policy is balls. As to the knife, its a cool design but I feel a little steep for such a small knife.

Curious why the "who" matters so much?

Equally, one has to wonder why the "Big Secret".
Is it because owners would be disappointed if they knew they had paid top dollar for a knife made by XXXXX? I can't think of any other reason....?

Yeah, I wonder why the big secret too, though there is no reason for any disappointment.
I mean really, what USA manufacturer would folks be upset to hear is making stuff?

With a name like Banksy, I would think that you'd appreciate their secrecy.

I can think of a few USA makers that I choose not to do business with. Unless I can confirm the Dauntless isn't made by them, I won't be giving them my money.

They are not made by a "Maker"

They are made by/for TAD in a manufacturing facility.

A big ole machine shop, not a knifemakers shop.

It happens all the time in manufacturing.

These are not customs, they are productions.

So you can at least confirm that the manufacturer is not another knife making company like Strider, Microtech, HTM?

That's interesting; it never occurred to me that a regular machine shop would have the expertise to make high end knives.
Thanks for the insight. Now I understand why the name really doesn't matter. Still don't understand the secrecy though.

(I was the original banksy btw; the other is imitation)
