Take Down Fighter Work In Progress

This was an amazing thread...

I had no idea just how many steps were involved in producing a knife of this beauty, precision and excellence. I'm more appreciative now than before because of it. Thanks Josh.

Congratulations Kevin, that's one to be very proud of...

Incredible piece!! And an equally incredible thread. Thanks very much for putting all the time/pics together and posting it:thumbup:

Congratulations to that Lucky new owner;)

Thanks everyone for the kind words and Josh for your going all out in making me an outstanding knife, including your making the effort in getting me such a wonderful selection of ivory to chose from.
The dimensions are:
OAL 12 ½” (318mm) BL 7 ¾” (197mm)

Coop did a great job on the photo. I have added a smaller version to better show the complete profile without having to scroll down.

Here's my amateurish photo showing the Paul Long custom sheath with prairie rattler inlay and the small holster (a papoose, he calls it) he made to house the damascus take-down tool. Thanks Paul.

What a wonderful ending! Thank you for taking the time to do this Josh, it is much appreciated.

Did you epoxy the butt and spacer to the handle as well. or are they seperate components when taken down?

Also, I am curious as to the threaded rod size that you used on the tang?

Thankyou again -- Have a great hammer in this weekend!
Brian

10-32. The butt and spacer are not epoxied. They come apart as well.

Thanks Brian,

Thanks for that mate. :)

Well said!

We shot this at Blade, and it was hard NOT to show it off until this thread had run its course. What a star in the making.

Thanks Josh, for such a smart post, and thanks to Kevin for the opportunity!

you did one of the longest and marvellous thread about a WIP for a knife.
You have a real talent in making ans also you use with precisions all the machines...
Simply unbelievable work!
I also take a look at your site... you did some of the most marvellous foldings too.

It's a honour to see you working. Always time to learn with you.

Cheers from Italy.

you can say that again! :D

Thank you so much for the compliments. I think the Chinese question asked about a sheath. It does have one but was not pictured in the final photograph. It is in the picture Kevin took and it was made by Paul Long. Thanks again.
