I try to avoid buying just for novelty . But every time I see this thing ...I just want it pretty bad ! 😍

I'd most likely never carry it . But I would play around !

Frame locks are not my most trusted , especially for a fighting knife .

Might be fine and safe ...or not ?

Not expensive , but not easily returned either . 🤷‍♂️

Novelty just means it’s different. Novelty is not objectively a good thing. Not a bad thing, just not necessarily good.

So basically, you are wondering if you should buy a thing that is ugly (subjective), impractical, and has a locking mechanism you wouldn’t trust, you wouldn’t use, and you cannot easily return. is there anything else I’m missing? This is a recipe for buyer’s remorse.

Take a step back, and don’t look at the knife again until next week. If you still want it next week, then go for it.

This is not the knife you’re looking for.

The more you want your next knife, the more you should instead use your previous knife
Maybe the sandstorm will then subside. I have some sak aloxes in my cart but I also have 4 classics, I'm not entirely convinced the bigger blade will do too much more than what I already use my classics for, at this moment. So instead I make it a point to use the classics even more.

I've got one.... If you're interested. 😉

I have a newer one with black micarta instead of bright red, which looks much better IMO. No wiggles or other reasons to distrust it, although it does have a couple quirks. You need to lightswitch the flipper to open it, or part of the spine will come around and catch on your finger. The lockbar cutout and clip could have been a little better thought out, too. The detent is strong, though, and it runs on multi row bearings. Blade is ridiculously sharp and pointy, already learned the hard way. It's designed to be held with the blade edge facing towards you, so you can use your body's most forceful muscles to make hard pull cuts. Considering it's got beefy titanium handles, a 4" blade, and one of those defensive specific designs that you usually have to pay a 2x or more markup for, I'd say it's a great value. Hopefully all I'll have to use this very specific blade for is cardboard.

It's not a configuration I'd gravitate to, but if I was going for that blade style I'd much prefer the fixed blade models shown in the video, instead of the folder. Having a slippery titanium handle is also a good way to have a bad day with a knife like that.

How about a mini-review ?

Put some pressure on the spine and wiggle it around a bit .

Did it cut you ?
It's in a big storage container and requires a bit of effort to extricate.
So maybe not tonight.
But I do want to dig it out, it's an interesting design, just not one I'd carry at the "office".
I bought it maybe 6 months ago?? off of ebay after someone on this forum posted a picture.
Apologies if it was you and I sniped it. 🤔
I researched the model and couldn't find another anywhere, the listing did specify custom so I thought it might have been a one off from an in house designer.
So it's interesting that they're being put into production. I didn't watch the video so I may be mistaken.

Sometimes the easiest way to talk ourselves out of buying a thing is by deciding that the people who own that thing just totally suck.

So Hi my name is John and I own three of these knives. Other hobbies and interests: fascism, collectible sneakers, light saber training, vintage hatwear, crystal healing, Tik Tok content creation, vegan cooking, giving relationship advice, and thorough tax audits.

What about long walks on the beach?

I say go for it! Then again this totally impractical piece landed on my doorstep today.
