Talk me out of the Bear Grylls Scout Folder!

If anyone is honestly considering buying this knife than I feel sorry for them. It's a piece of junk that I would not want to use for anything, much less stake my life on. Everyone knows Gerber turned into a worthless company a long time ago and they're a joke in the knife industry. I do not feel safe using Gerber products because the craftsmanship is so poor. There have also been recalls on some of their products.

Aside from that, Bear Grylls' show is so fake, I can't even watch it.

I prefer Les Stroud's survivorman.

I didn't even know Bear Grylls had made a knife until a week ago when I was in Wal-Mart and saw it. It seems like Wal-Mart is continually sliding downward in terms of quality products. You'd think they'd reach a bottom at some point.

And look at this..."BG" do you really want some other guy's initials inscribed on your knife handle in inch high dayglo orange letters? Ug.

It's a BG gerber, friskers, China POS and jumps out as such as soon as you see it. It will have poor F&F, the blade steel will be of questionable quality, and you will probably be buying a better knife soon after you get it. I don't know the price but if its more than $20 your spending too much. Maybe a Spyderco or kershaw? I'm sure you could find a low cost option from either that you could actually trust not to fall apart.

Your money your choice but I see this knife as one of those "setting yourself up for failure" type of things.
