(tang stamps)

These are my personal pictorial favorites so far!:cool::thumbup:

...
This is from what I've been able to find out a SFO from Queen by a Bob White. Hence the quail stamp on each blade.

not quite in the discussion, but the engraving on MT Damascus('s) Overeynder is absolutely superb!-is there a current thread for that? wow.
really interesting tang stamps as well. was the use of them required? in England i mean. i comprehend the value and necessity for market recognition, what i'm wondering is if cutlers were required to use them, much the same as hallmarks, not for assay purposes, but simply guild related? (if that makes any sense at all).
thanks, Neal

"Devil guys" or something like that, I remember this German guy saying this tang was called in Hartkopf & Co army/camp/sportsman knife.

Nice choice Chief, how could we forget to include the Forum Knife?? :foot::confused: Is that the 2012?

Here's some rather nice script on a Northfield Dixie

Thanks, guys. I've been trying to find and save tang stamp charts to my computer/phone for reference, but can't find much on Kissing Cranes. The stamping looks so crisp on the pen blade, I don't know if that makes it real old or real new. :D

I'm about 50/50 on the Russell being a fake, but I kinda like the willy-nilly orientation of the lettering. Also love the bolster stamp on the Dixon.

Love the old style typefaces on most European knives.

'Course, the USA can do some purty letterin' too.

An understated classic.

The famous Russell "arrow" stamp.

The new Robesons by Queen.

This knife just has cool stamps all over it. The dog on the nick side of all three blades (master blade has "Hand Made" underneath the dog while the others have "Bull Terrier") and a maker stamp on the back of the master ("Pitt Bull").

Cornwall Knife Co., one of Camillus's brands.

A Pal next to my oldest Boker.

This Boker (a hawkbill) doesn't have a stamp, per se. The G. Schrade fork would come as part of a "hobo set" with a similar spoon and a fixed-blade knife in a leather sheath. I tried procuring a complete set but the price rapidly spiralled out of control. :o

Master Quality U.S.A.

I've got some other knives with interesting stamps that I haven't photographed open (or the detail isn't good enough for modern-day enhancement techniques ).
