Tanked

The Tanked made short work of cutting a Jimmy Johns sandwich in half today at lunch. I'm not a Jimmy Johns fan, but I swear it tasted better after it was Tanked. ;)

Ok here it is i took a few different angles and like i said i carry it in the pocket with whatever else i have that day
Here it is before cleaning it up today and i had to turn it at an angle to get the scuffs to show

Wow. I'm impressed how well that wears.

Thanks for the pictures. Beautiful knife by the way.

Thanks i appreciate the kind words. It is kinda crazy because the unique graphics(UG) and cgg or even the inlays appealed to me at all. I was always a plane jane guy until i took a chance on a trade with a member here and im so glad i did.

To anyone who has never handled or seen a UG,CG, inlay model you really need to in person to see the details and beautiful colors in hand. For some reason something is lost in the pics that you dont see until its in hand.

I still sit and just look at the tanked and other models and marvel at the detail and the crisp lines and the way the ano varies (just look at the halloween sebenza)

Looking feverishly for a Tanked. If anyone can point me in the proper direction I would be obliged.

JordonC2 JordonC2 They say, “Pics or it didn’t happen.” To me, pictures are nothing but pictures. So... send it to me or it didn’t happen. :D:p

On a serious note, congrats on the find. I’m starting to get the itch to find one myself.

We are a fickle bunch aren't we? I was never really interested in current production after I started to collect.. Would buy something current on occasion but not often at all.
Then one day, boom..It's out of production and interest seems to skyrocket. Take the CGG Glorious as an example. New and secondary market were plentiful until they started to become popular after being discontinued.
Tanked is well on it's way to Glorious status. If you look around, you can still find them on occasion for not so stupid prices..but I think that will be short lived in the coming years.

The Tanked series seems to be the only one that IMO would look better with dings & scrapes. Like it went to war. Now can I get mine with B-17 flying fortress nose art?!

Find some art and send it in for custom CAD..That would be really cool!

You are truly evil. So um...how many of my pieces/arm/legs/kidneys need to be sold to put up the coin for this wonderfully demented idea?:thumbsup:

P.S. I do have MasterCAM, Solidworks, Matrix (Rhino) & a HAAS super mini mill at my disposal.

lol- I'm sure you could do something yourself and as long as that means something to you then you never have to worry about any of the warranty issues unless you have to use the warranty. Then it covers certain items.
As far as what it costs? Fill out the form on their website and upload the picture/file along with any instructions. If you provide the knife, then you can save some coin on that at least...But really, I think that you have a great idea.. Some of the art from Vietnam era aircraft would be really cool. A series of them would be ultra cool!
Would be interested to hear what something like that would run myself..I would inquire, but it's not my idea.

This is off topic, but here is something I did for my wife for Christmas 2018. Sent in an image that my wife has around my house that has alot of meaning for her.
It's the colored one in the back.
The knife pictured in the foreground is a friends knife which has a pretty cool story..Perhaps a few of the people that were involved can borrow this pic and start a thread on it?

OMG, Pooh & Piglet! If those two heavenly creatures don't warm the deepest darkest trenches of the cockles of ones heart, then all hope is lost.
Warranty issues? Is that when I do the improvements myself & have a better item than what was first purchased?:thumbsup:
I have sent the email & asked on all info concerning the subject. I will provide the item to be used. I will have this thread on watch & respond accordingly. Fingers crossed!

P.S. Those two Pooh pieces would be the only time a tool I owned would be placed in a shadow box or safe. Safe queens? More like priceless pieces of pure art.

P.S.S. My son just pointed out...could that "CR" stand for "Christopher Robin"? I'd like to think so.

I know it’s off-topic, but seeing the Pooh and Piglet touched my heart. What a wonderful graphic to have on a special knife. Very nice!

As I remember it, there charges were very reasonable

Well that's a no go. Got the email stating they're too busy for "more extravagant custom graphic requests at this time". Oh well. I might have to do it myself.

That's too bad. I don't think many knew of or used that service, but it was great that the option was there.
Good luck on your project
