Glad I could help Gary. That knife of yours is a beauty, wouldn't want to mess it up.

I don't have both, but I never wanted the double either. The single blade Charlows are such trim knives, and the blades being a very good size (not too long, not too short) I don't see the need for a pen.

Man, that's an incredible knife. I'll have to keep my eye out on the exchange for one of those. Wish I'd gotten into traditional knives earlier!

What kind of bone handle material is that?

It's marrow bone, dyed with some lemon tea. Here's a shot of it straight out of the tube.

the 2 blade handle is thicker by the thickness of one scale, and measures 3/32" thicker, or 21% thicker, than the single blade.. the 2 blade is 17/32" thick, the single blade is 14/32" thick (thickness measured with a tape measure, I dont have a more accurate micrometer option)

Thanks Jon ! that's perfect, nice touch with the scale too !!
I think they've got a really great niche there with these TC Barlows for sure, a friend at work, his initials are TC and he signs his initials the same way with the C on top of the T, he's not a knife guy so he didn't try to take mine ;)

Although I'm actually the "one blade folder" guy, I've been recently won over by some two bladers. I would pull the trigger at once for this here knife (ebony scales, natch...) with a secondary spey or, better, wharncliffe blade. They could be equal size or a tad smaller... no worries, I'm quite flexible.

One bladed folder guy is not a bad thing at all, I been feeling more that way lately as you can then grip the handle as it was intended, without any other blades intruding, just seems more natural, BUT more blades are not always bad and this one feels ok with the two blades, no problems at all, great knife!

Here are some comparison size shots against a the Swiss Army Victorinox Pioneer Harvester

That's a very nice shot ! But in this class, I would have seen the Victorinox Original Classic 1891 (Ouch ! 5 so called blades...). Anyway, it is disqualified by the ridiculous retail price, I suppose. And you are right...

The Pioneer Harvester had some excellent tools on board, I consider those as small tool boxes ;) and not as a regular pocket knife, makes me seem more normal when folks see me empty my pockets out at work, they don't understand the need to carry more than one!

The main one I use on that is the Awl, for scraping, hole making, slicing off a piece of sand paper from a roll, better than hurting a knife edge for that, plus there is a small hooked blade that is quite handy for boxes and for cutting plastic ties from a bundle of wire without harming any of the wire/cables, plus of course the screw driver for various tasks and occasionally the saw is pretty handy and as most know, it really does SAW !
