WINNERS ANNOUNCED, page 17, post 325

OK...... :D

Here we go folks - Good Grief!!!! what a busy morning - talking to my good mate Paul Hilborn, flat-stick pm'ing Stephen ( old and in the way ), Barry - whew...but together we have something for you..
As we know there has been a MASSIVE increase in interest in Charlies most spectacular knives - for good reasons!!

I wanted to post a give-away for a TC Barlow - why?...well theres a lot of people who are missing out on them, and a lot things not understood about the whole massive concept behind these knives, we have recently learnt and discussed a lot.

Charlie has me worried because he is giving away knives like nothing before - this man is ALWAYS very generous - but lately -my goodness Charlie - you have been amazing!!
Theres good about that, and bad - good because there are people who have contact of probably one of the greater knife guys we have the pleasure of "knowing" - and he just a good guy too - the bad part all you guys have taken knives that I feel rightly belong to me - dont ask me how I get that-its just the first thing that comes to my mind :D

I have been blown away from the response where people have contacted me about the give-away, please can I introduce that Stephen ( Old and in the way ) as a very respected and well liked Tradtitional guy here - he contacted me and has offered another TC Barlow to add to this give-away!!! Holy Cow man - how is that? - what a awesome guy !! This is a VERY VERY nice knife Stephen is basically sacrificing from his beloved collection - this is amazing Stephen - my friend thank you very very much.

Also the phone rang this morning, and it was our very good mate Paul Hilborn, who ALSO HAS ADDED ANOTHER TC BARLOW!!!! ( yes thats me screaming in type :D ) Wow...this is really getting off the ground...hang on 'cause thats not all folks....
Barry, has ALSO added a Mind Blowing Pocket Sheath!!!! so there is LOTS up for grabs here guys and gals :thumbup:
Paul - you far exceed the borders of generosity - you are indeed one of the most generous guys here -

I NEED Barry, Stephen, Paul to also come in - add their photo of their prize and choose what category their wonderful and most generous prize will be in, so guys please do your thing.....

Because there are people who have NOT had the chance to get their paws on a TC Barlow - there will be a separate draw for ONLY people who dont have a TC Barlow - this will be good!
The other draws are really up to the generous gifters - Stephen, Paul Barry to decide in which area their prized goes.

People who have 5 or more posts in Traditionals are able to join in - visitors - please respect that you just cant come in and have a go - there are genuine people here who have really missed out - please respect that  ( and we will check ).

Lets start this...
Barry has come up with this idea - in hope that Charlie may get some feedback from the followers of the TC's, so please read what Barry has put forward for the people who enter must put forward to be eligible to enter, choose one or all to have your say....

1,What 21st century model production traditional folder besides the TC Barlow do you think will be a desirable collectible in the future?

2,What etching/graphics would you like to see on a TC Barlow blade?

3,Why you like the TC Barlow - in what design?

4,Why you think you should win a TC barlow ( this may be a hard one to answer - but give it a shot ).

Thats it, but can I say this before this goes..

Charlie, I know you dont like a fuss being made, but I truly believe there must be a time when a Man like yourself should step forward and please Sir - allow us to thank you for your very hard work, your amazing work is - and will be for generations to come - be recognised and remembered, there will come a time we will all be but dust in the ground, and those beautiful knives will still be here - I think its called a Legacy.
Charlie you are indeed a great guy - we ALL thank you .... for being you, you indeed are most deserving of anything good coming your way - thank you Sir from all of us who are better off in all aspects here in Traditionals because you share so much.

Barry, Thank you for your extremely hard work that you have done towards the Forum here - your work with the labels is stunning, you passion is something to be marvelled, and you are simply a bloody nice guy. Folks - Barry is in the knife game because he loves Traditonal knives so much, he makes a slither on the knives he sells - he does it because he loves spreading the love of Traditional knives - and by doing so he is helping ensure the survival of passion and knowledge of Traditional knives to come in future generations - please have a look at his site and help support him he truly is a great guy to deal with - just ask ANYONE who has dealt with him.

Here is my Barlow, its from one of the later lines of these stunning knives, I admit to being greedy and buying it- just because it was for sale -I have two of these now so grab one of them - I know I have a problem, but its one thats shared I believe :D ( the knife is the middle knife in the photo - Red Jigged bone )
This 152114 Red Bone Barlow is up for grabs, single bladed beauty, this knife goes into the draw-pool of all NON TC Barlow owners, and also the CURRENT TC Barlow owners.
Anyone who dares step into this land and states the he or she will not enter because of whatever reasons WILL BE put into the draw - give us in YOUR input of the current/past Barlows, and your hopes of up-coming Barlows..good luck everyone.

Right...the give away is mounting up to be a HUGE one - we have 4 people now joining in and gifting - our plan is to squash Primbles monumental thread into the realms of forgotten days, and ours will rein forever known as THE MOTHER OF ALL GIVEAWAYS!!! ( Followed by insane mad laughter )

THANK YOU Stephen, Paul, Barry for your generous contribution to this give-away my friends.... <<<< These are my friends!!:cool:

Not an entry and how can it not be a Primble's GAW buster with 3 Charlows!!!:eek::eek:

Better take advantage of this conspiracy folks.:D

Since I have been served the first infraction - I wish for a future release of antique amber saw-cut bone TC Barlow with sheep foot blade and pen in front. TC Barlow rules the roost !!

Not an entry !! ( does that mean I now have two chances ? ) :D

Maybe I can derail this thread before it blows my recent GAW into forgotten lands! :D

Duncan, thanks so much for doing this GAW. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun for all of us, and a great opportunity for a few members to snag some new knife swag. Thank you for allowing me to participate in your GAW. It's an honor to be able to keep company with you, Barry and Paul. Thank you again! And like you, I'd also like to express my gratitude to Charlie for his enormous contributions to our community which go far beyond the excellent knives that he's introduced to all of us.

For the GAW, I'm putting up my new, never carried Chestnut Saw-Cut Bone Stew's Blade Charlow (single blade). This one's available to anyone who doesn't already own a Charlow. So if you've missed out to this point, here's your opportunity to find out what all the fuss is about for yourself. Best of luck!

Wow ^^^^ THAT is one VERY AWESOME knife - here you go all NON Barlow people who have missed out... Thank YOU Stephen - that is massive.

Primble - INFRACTION SERVED You are hereby entered into the draw!

This isn't an entry. Contained in this thread is another (of numerous) example of the generosity shown by five of this forums outstanding members. The TC's are treasures, mine was in my pocket today!!

Have an excellent night ladies & gents!
Kirby

1. What 21st century model production traditional folder besides the TC Barlow do you think will be a desirable collectible in the future?
I am still pretty new to traditionals myself, but I think the #85 will be desirable in the future for its small compact shape, ergonomic handle, and overall good aesthetics.

2,What etching/graphics would you like to see on a TC Barlow blade?
Personally I'm not a big fan of lots of etching/logos. I would prefer a sterile blade or very subtle logo markings.

3,Why you like the TC Barlow - in what design?
I like TC barlows because of the large marked bolsters, overall barlow look, and that it is an edc pocketable size.

4,Why you think you should win a TC barlow ( this may be a hard one to answer - but give it a shot ).
I can't claim to deserve to win any more than the next entry, but I can promise that if I win it will be a knife that will be carried for a long time and kept in good condition.

*not sure if need be stated or not, but I am in the non TC owner pool

Well done gentlemen!

I have step foot into these grounds understanding my post is an entry. That being said, if by chance I win, out of what presume will be several pages worth of post, I will pay it forward in another give away or simply give it to someone who didn't win within this gaw. I just couldn't resist the rules.

1. The 48 Diamond Jack. It is beautiful, carries years of history and strongly influenced by Schrade Cut Co, and a great quality user. I hope Charlie does several more runs of this pattern.

2. Etchings ~ Something clean, classic, and makes me feel I stepped back 70 years. I personally like the cursive script found on older Robeson knives but I love the script style on this one.

3. The historical connection primarily. I believe it perfectly carries the history into todays current market. I believe in 50 yrs it will be just as relevant, if not more so, to traditional knife knut users and preservers.
- I would love to see a sheepsfoot (sorry guys not a beerlow fan) single blade in black bone like on the 48 Diamond Jack pictured above. I cant remember that style of jigging for some reason.

4. So I can give it to someone who doesn't own one.

To ALL NON-Barlow owners who are entering - this is especially for you-PLEASE let us know that you are a NON Barlow owner when entering-thank you!

Super extra seriously not an entry, I know you said it doesn't matter if I say that but srsly.

SERIOUSLY I HAVE A PROBLEM DON'T ENABLE ME!

1. My answer to this one is: anything Charlie touches!

2. That pic of Charlie in the Mickey Mouse hat might work as an etch?

3. I like the TC barlow because it's just big enough to be useful for 99% of the cutting chores I'll come across on a daily basis. And the boslter stamp... OH THE BOLSTER STAMP

4. I don't.... SERIOUSLY DON'T GIVE ME ONE! Good on y'all for this amazing and historic giveaway, forumites will speak of this one for years to come!

To ALL NON-Barlow owners who are entering - this is especially for you-PLEASE let us know that you are a NON Barlow owner when entering-thank you!

Duncan - a few things come to mind here - for clarification - do you mean Barlows or TC Barlows for the non -owners, more specifically?

and any time frame on how long the GAW is going to run?

Just a few things I wondered about.

This is EXTREME generosity - in my opinion!!!:)

Sorry Primble TC BARLOWS - this is for people to have a chance at getting the ever elusive ( in Charlies Shrade Thread's words ) TC Barlow.

Time frame?..we cant hold up the field too long - lets say 2 to 3 weeks? what say you fellow contributors?
Primble Sir - Hey...you set the standards of generosity my friend!

Phillll INFRACTION SERVED

Kirby INFRACTION SERVED :D Man...I could really get off being a Mod - this is fun! Both of you in the draw - if you win, you can choose perhaps a NON Barlow owner who has missed out on the draw who has entered?

Consider this "not an entry" either since I have a few already. Just a quick WOW for the gifters. I'm very impressed with your generosity. I love being in your company. I really enjoy being a part of the Barlow brotherhood. Keep being great!

Paul...that must hurt giving that one away - Man a Sheepsfoot!!! I might enter this, and if I can do the winning draws please lol :D
Paul, what sector is this one going in, NON TC Barlow people or across the board?

This is absolutely incredible of you once again! Paul for MAYOR!

I think this is a great idea for someone who doesn't have a TC Barlow to have an opportunity of winning one. Thanks to all of the great people who contributed and supported this endeavor. I have a
few of these knives so I will honestly sit this one out. Post em guys and gals.......meanwhile I have to get back to scanning the for sale forum for that TC Barlow, Day's Work, Spey Blade I need.
