Tdhurl1103 says I need a Becker BK2

Dominate the land and all that survey it......

Plus, the handsome, well hung fellow behind the camera in the video above is just some guy........

That happens to be me....

Just sayin'.

Oh, well if it's between the BK 2 and anything.....

I'll side with the BK2. That tanto is nice, but use it as a carjack and see where it gets you.....

:D:D:D

I keed.......that tanto is a beast and will serve a man in H2H combat better than most......reach and can poke big, deep holes........

NEED? Does a sunset need to be beautiful? Does a mountain need to be majestic? Does a double rainbow need to be awesome?
You really can't fully appreciate any of these things without experiencing them in person.
Let us know how much you love your new BK2. :D

Don't get me wrong here.... I do like the Kabar Tanto that I have. I just never use it. It is still bnib. I can't really say that I care too much for the way the metal guard feels against my hand. So... I won't be buying another one. I understand it's purpose, but I don't forsee me needing to stab anything that would require having it.

As for which Becker... I really do like the Tac Tool and think it would be wonderful to have in my truck... you know.... just in case I get into a scuffle with a feral Dodge Omni. Just can't decide if I should get a BK2 first and then the Tac Tool. The BK2 looks to be a beast of a knife and is steadily climbing on my want list.

This was the thread that sold me!

With all confidence I'll sink it deep.... into wood.

I think I found the Becker for me.

98% positive that I am ordering a BK9 next week.

I haven't been able to make it out GP Knives to handle any of the Becker models so..... after much online research.... and very much consideration towards the BK2 and the BK7... I am very much leaning really hard toward the BK9. I have quite a few knives to fill a lot of roles. However, I don't own anything like the BK9. It is a big ass knife. Just so happens I don't own a big ass knife. It will also make it easier to splurge on a BK2 down the road, as the BK2 is less expensive.

I appreciate all of the feedback from all of you.

It maybe a while, but I will post up pics when I get.

Not trying to goof things all up since you've done your research and all and narrowed it down but the BK12 is open for preorders. Check out KnifeWorks. Doug Ritter/Becker RSK MK2 aka BK12. It's basically BK2 meets BK7. A little heavier on the pocket book but its kind of limited production badass blade.
Here's the thread from the BK&T forum:

Here's Doug's page about it:

And partial proceeds are donated.

If you've already ordered the 9, you done good friend. It'd be my first choice.
"You can't not own a 9"

Onya ThrottleMonkey. You'll absolutely love the 9. Just PM Big Hoss and he'll fill you in with all the relevant info on the benefits it will bring you.

Seriously though, where is this secret hidden donut shop? I want my free apple fritter..

The BK14 kind of falls into that " I already have knives of that size " category. Granted, they aren't Beckers, but I have some to fill that role already. I don't have anything that fills the " I gotta big ass knife that can survive the apocalypse " category. You know ... for beheading zombies and chopping down trees to build make shift cabins.

My plan is to order the BK9 on Monday of next week. I should get it by Thursday of next week. I am going to beat it like a red headed stepchild, ride it hard, and put it up wet. I need to know it can stand severe use and modest abuse.

I have to wait til Monday to order it because a friend of mine can get it for me for 80$ bnib. Otherwise I would order it now.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't super excited :D

The BK9 was certainly an unexpected turn of events...

I'd still save your pennies for the BK2 and BK3. I've got a BK3 for all the family vehicles (along with a CS Special Forces shovel, Stanley cook set, Mora Light My Fire, Esbit emergency stove, etc...).

My favorite, and most used, is still the BK5 though. You really should add that to the list as well. Jerry Fisk knows a good blade shape when he designs one...

Just ordered the BK9. Should be here by Thursday. Didn't get a chance to order it last week.

I'm stoked :D

I am sure there will be more added to the list if this meets my expectations.

And yes... pics are coming lol.

Yeah I saw that and thought about it... but passed. Like I said before, I NEED a big ass knife lol. I am sure that if this turns out to be what I hope it is... a BK2 will be coming next.

....... but I have been oogling a BK4 Machax too. And the Bk7. Damn you Blade Forums! You are killing my wallet... or maybe it's my lack of self control, but I still blame you Blade Forums! Like any self respecting addict would :D

Yessir, like I always say, we are here for you brother. To comfort, encourage, and enable you.

Soooo...the 4 is a beautiful and fine tool. I highly recommend it as your next addition. It's current price point makes it easier on the wallet. Availability is good for now, as its being discontinued you should move on it sooner than later!
