I've worked in about 8 different specialist behaviour schools (the type of kids who couldn't be taught in mainstream education because of their disruption and violence) in England and Wales, I always had a SAK in my pocket. I used it in front of children and adults alike.
I thought it was important that children saw a person using a knife in a responsible way not in a threatening weapon like manner. There are many misconceptions about knives and knife use (how to cut safely etc..) and I took the time to explain knife laws to them and the responsibilities that come with carrying one.
