Jumped ship from that particular forum at least three or four years ago I think it's been. Discussed automatics and was threatened with Police action, and received a warning. Unfortunately pandering to some of today's rubbish is unavoidable, but it's taken a little too far there.

From being an ardent poster on several large U.K shooting forums I can tell you their all Police monitored; the reason I'm aware of it, and most other members can substantiate this is the Administrators discuss it quite openly.

They are watching us because in today's World we're criminals waiting to happen I'm afraid.

How the hell can they threaten you with Police action! I mean is it now illegal to discuss topics regarding certain knives/guns? That would mean that you couldn’t have a discussion about nuclear physics because that may imply that you somehow have access to a nuclear device???!!! And God forbid if you would dare to mention the word Tank or missile…… bloody hell, they might lock you up for life!!!!!!!!! Would they censor the news on TV too, because if we cant discuss them openly, we surely shouldn’t be able to see them either, it may only want to make us talk about them!!!!

What an absolute joke… and shame on the web sites like the afore mentioned one for helping the government peddle their bullshit!!!!

Signing in as another former user of that site who jumped ship when he realised they treat people like grandparents treat toddlers. My heinous crime was to ask hypothetical legal questions about self defence. When the topic got locked and called 'very destructive' I decided I'd had enough.

I've not been a user here long, but I feel like a big boy now.

It's a sad day when even a community of responsible knife users gets whacked with the extreme political correctness bat.

They decide I was being a naughty boy, and as you might know there are several members who "claim" to be serving Police.
It seems less hostile today however, which surprises me given the climate is undoubtedly worse. Never came to anything.

As it happens I decided to re-visit yesterday and discovered some very depressing threads on Customs seizures
Perhaps it's worth monitoring for freedoms sake after all?.

Anyway, I'll say no more on the Forum. Several notable members are semi-regular here, and a Forum war would be non-productive.

Yes, I too noticed the Customs issues.... very disturbing indeed, and utterly pointless really. I would be really P'd off if it were me that had bought something legal, only to have it pocketed by a customs officer. I know they have a difficult (and very important) job to do, and without border control we would have many serious threats to contend with, but sometimes they do seem a little over zealous when it comes to sharp pointy things! I honestly feel that it is a PR decision filtered down through the ranks. It seems to ebb and flow depending on the news of the day and media hype. And as always, the only people who suffer through this are the ordinary folk who just want to get on with their lives and pursue their interests (in this case knife collecting).
As for the notable members of BB's that frequent here, I would expect that they enjoy a chance to speak freely without fear of being chastised or sent to the naughty corner!

It appears the UK has a problem common to industrial nations - confusing the control of mechanical contrivances with the control of humans.

That might be the case regarding the general and sometimes ignorant populace, but the politicians know exactly what they're doing....removing all power from the people.

27,140 signitures?!!! The government/ media brainwashing has worked suprisingly well in the UK, it seems. How sad. I find it especially infuriating how they refer to us as "thugs." It doesn't get much more biggoted than that.
