This is so funny! I know maybe it shouldn't, but reading that made my day. I laughed so hard! But yes, I am just a 15 year old girl. I wish I had a way to prove it to you all, but I gotta stay safe. Oh, and I would never spam, because spamming is HORRIBLE! Thanks!

To me you sound like a very legitimate dealer. Maybe you can do some youtube knife reviews while advertising your goods and your company. Best of luck.

Well done Chandler. I'm a highschool youth worker, and occasionally I come across kids that just have their head screwed on straight, and are able to plan and create things most adults look at and scratch their heads over. You're doing a great job, and I'll definately be looking into placing an order with you in the future. Don't worry about the armchair detectives, but do make sure you've got your butt covered legally.

Chandler - back to your original post, the basic layout and navigation of your site is good.
the only major (and it's pretty minor) suggestion I have is to either lighten your font slightly or to darken the background color of the frame just a bit.
Higher contrast is easier to read. (you already did good with the dark background and light font, this will just make it slightly better for folks with vision problems)

depending on your web editing software, see if it has an accessability checker in the tools and run that -- it will give you a ton of errors, but for the most part they will be pretty minor and can be skipped. font/background contrast and "alt" tags are good things to have, though.

best of luck!

you need more pictures on the homepage. more pics in general. people like pictures. too much scrolling too. remove that big American flag pic that stays on every page.

Chandler, here are a couple of examples of a CA knife/web store referencing autos (couple of links).

At the top: http://www.plazacutlery.com/PROTECH/PROTECHmainpage.htm
This basically applies to sales within CA, I believe (haven't checked how under 2" sales applies to other States).

Also, at the top: http://www.plazacutlery.com/Benchmade/benchmadeMain.htm
I believe this is just one CA exception that would apply to sales of larger autos (haven't checked to see how it applies to sales in/to other States, but I believe it does apply to some).

Just wanted to give you some quick examples, so you wouldn't freak out (too much).

Wow. This is intresting. How exactly did you get the money for all theses knives as well as a domain name?

Awesome! Thanks!

I dunno about everyone else, but I think this is all on the level. Obvoiusly yoo're a smart girl based on your replies on this thread alone. You also show signs on your site of someone who is just getting into the biz, knife selection, pricing, site layout (nice and neat btw). I like it, and wish you all the best. It's very cool to see anyone with that kind of initiative and smarts to pull this operation together and get it going at 15! (Nonetheless a girl, which is even a bit cooler, and not in a creepy way, just a refreshingly different way!)

There was a local knife shop for a while in my area that was owned and run by an amazing woman (ok, she was hot, too) who really knew her shiz, and carried top notch stuff. Proof enough for me that this can be done, especially by a tech saavy young lady such as yourself!

Hand around her and the other forums to keep in touch with the industry trends on what sells, and CAREFULLY listen to the GOOD advice (ignore the aholes that linger as well), and you'll do great!

Well I have never met a scammer who deals with a little hazing so well...The business ethic is on point for a 15 year old as well...Im really not sure if legally it is ok for anyone to make a business transaction with a 15yr old though...There may need to be adjustments to who the credit/financial aspects of the company actually fall on..You may beable to "RUN" the company but as far as owning it I dont think so..Lawsuits in the US are pretty high and with state knife restrictions there is a need for the seller to have liability both in regular sales and government legal issues...For that you need to be of legal age to sign documents...I would consult a lawyer if your really serious about this at your present age..You and your family would need to take a serious look at the problems that could come up...A real business is not as simple as a paypal account and a stack of priority mail boxes...

But if this story does check out it is both nice and refreshing to see a 15yr old girl (from California none the less) that actually has some brains and aspires to be more than some ridiculous american idol singer or reality star... Maybe there is some hope for the future...I think this was why everyone was so shocked initially...

If you are a real person and not some robot crony scammer more power to you...You site looks great and you seem to have a good head for business...By the time your 18 maybe you will own knife center...

Good Luck

Yes, this thread is closed. I issued a warning and edited out the original post link to her website. She edited it back in. Twice.

I would like to give a new member a chance, especially one with the ambition to become a valuable member of the community here. Ignoring instructions on the rules is not the way to go.
