Tell me about Zero Tolerance knives

Can someone tell me how thick the handle on the ZT0200 is at the thickest point?

Thanks - Jim

I own two 0200 (one is the Knifeworks 0205) and three 0300 series knives. That speaks volumes.

I have found kershaw knives to be high quality both past and present however I have been very suprised at the excellent quality, fit, and finish, both from personal experience and what I read, of the knives Kershaw and Zero Tolerance (ZT) are producing these days. Considering the price and origin (USA made ones)
Until I actually handled two different models I had no appreciation of Kershaw's current progress. The latest knives definately rival benchmade in qualty, fit, and finnish.

I bought the 200 for ... $100 (mint, from a private seller on ebay) !
Yes it's an awesome knife with perhaps the strongest liner lock ever.
But it's also heavy. You will always notice the weight when you carry it. Added to this is that it's quite big and threatening looking, meaning I can't really EDC it without alarming people/police. As a summary: as I said a great knife but check if you or your environment is prepared for it !

I also thought that the 121 fixed blade looks fantastic. I thought to -perhaps- buy it. However, it's worth checking out this no-nonsense, well-reasoned and yet surprisingly negative review on youtube. This made me think whether it's indeed a well designed product.

The ZTs are great knives. I have a 301 and I love it. I don't like recurves but this knife is an exception. I think that it is one of the best bang for the buck framlocks. Tough as nails. And made in the USA

By thick I'm guessing you mean the spine? If so, 3/4" at the pivot, and almost 13/16ths at the butt, including the heads of the clip screws. It's a horse!

Hope this helps!

I have become a fan of large folders. I just picked up an Extrema Ratio RAO and orderd a Fox "folgore" rescue knife which by the way is identical to the Mil-Tac srk-1 ? :confused:though my first love is my ZT 0200 just like every one else has said "one hell of a knife" I called Kershaw and they were kind enough to send me 2 replacement clips after I lost mine off the fishing pier while switching sides. So I put one on each side in the tip up configuration.
This way I can carry right or left with no problem and having two clips does'nt
interfere with the handling at all.

A friend of mine recently bought a 0200, and it's one helluva knife no doubt about it. My only wish is that they would make a slightly smaller version that would be easier to EDC. And if it happened to have a blade without a recurve that would be even better..

Well apparently they are planning on a smaller version of the 0300 for 2009, but no word on a smaller 0200.

i recently bought a 0200 and was so impressed by the fit and finish i'am trying to order 22 more for my unit, i'am the rescue an survival petty officer at my base and think that they can take the abuse that most knives could not, they will be used by our boat crew and boarding teams. hope this helps

You're going to be a very popular man with your unit.

I love my MUDD knife! I have buried it with no negative effects....it can not beat!

The ZT0500 MUDD is just an awesome knife. If you like the ZT0200, then treat yourself to a ZT0500...................you will not be disappointed!!:D:thumbup:

I have a 0301, 0300, 0205, 0500 & 0610 if that tells you anything. I think they are the best production blade on the market. I must add that I also love my Kershaw Junk Yard Dog II titanium with SG2 and the Kershaw line as well.

maybe i am searching incorrectly, but i have found next to no info on ZT autos. they are not even on the ZT site. can somebody point me to a dealer, and maybe a quick review?

Some are assisted opening and the 0610 & 0650 are autos. Correct me if I am wrong guys.

I don't know the model number of the two autos, but there are two of them out there. Some are manual, some are fixed, some are assisted, and 2 are auto.

i did some googling and found ZT0610ST and ZT0650ST as both automatics.

this is the ZT0650ST, the one that looks more interesting to me

and www. TADGEAR .com (with respect to their picture) is the only place that i have found them available.

and shall i say, for automatics, as well as higher end Kai quality, they are a pretty good price too.
