Tell Me Other Spydies That I Will Love (Please)

My collecting has taken on a bit of a refined turn these days. I only buy knives that I really like the look/design/construction of and am trying not making any "unnecessary" purchases (such as purchases because a knife looks cool and I just have to have it). I'm also trying not to make any purchases that overlap, from a usability standpoint, with other knives that I own. I'm also trying to be exclusive to spydies these days.

Currently I own a Temperance 2, Dragonfly 2 in frn, PM2 in satin digicam, and a Native 5 in black g10.
I genuinely love all three for their great designs and high quality, and I also feel that each knife fits into a role that the other's don't.

Given that I love these knives and the other parameters I've mentioned, can you think of a knife that would fit well in my collection (specifically a Spyderco?).

I'll also note (and I realize that this is controversial) that I've tried a Manix 2 and it just wasn't for me.

Any ideas are much appreciated!

The Nilakka is in my opinion the next one to buy. I have the knives you have , and the one I like most is my Nilakka. In fact I ordered recently a second one to keep for years to come just as in case I should loose the one I have. I have convexed the edge,it's a great performer.

You need something more refined with more hard use. I would suggest a Gayle Bradley for hard use and something like a sage 1 or Chaparral 1 for dress carry. I think it would fill the spots you have open

Watch for Sprint Runs.

They're limited so for a pure collection they have added value. And for a user they're usually an improved version of a popular mode.

Win/win.

You've got Spydercos from Japan and the US. How about one from Taichung? My favorites from there are the Bradley, Domino, Vallotton, Air and Chubby. All of those are liner or frame locks and you don't have those lock types in your collection.

You must have a Caly 3 ZDP-189, a Manbug G10, a Dragonfly G10, and above all, you absolutely need a Delica.

gayle bradley 1)but i wouldn't take to long to order one!as there discontinuing this knife.

+1 for something from Taichung! If only to experience their near flawless fit and finish.

If you love the Native 5 you will probably like the Sage 2 as well. It has similar ergos, but the full ti framelock and deep carry wire clip gives it a whole different feel.

The Gayle Bradley is also a great choice for a stout, more heavy duty folder. Excellent steel and quite a looker in cf. Like 007 in a tux.

Get a pair of brothers:

Techno and Slysz Bowie. Amazing knives. The Bowie has been very favorably compared to the Sebenza. The Techno is a bada$$ workhorse.

Don't mind the G27:

wh... Wha... WHAT?! You have NO Delica and Endura?!

After getting a Delica and Endura, get a Stretch (Sal carries one in ZDP) and a Manix2.

I highly recommend the blue cf domino or regular cf version. This is probably my most used knife. I carry it daily along with a seb 21 and a small tidoute lockback.

That sounds like good advice.. it's not my thread but I'll take it

I've had my eye on the slysz bowie for quite some time now.

Ok, everyone already knows what I'm going to say but I will go ahead and say it anyway. You need a classic frn knife in there. Most will suggest the Delica or Endura and those are both great choices. But I think you also need some spyderedge in your lineup. Now as long as you are going frn and Spyderedge, there's really only one knife to even consider.

Get yourself a Pacific Salt. Thank me later. ;)

If you didn't enjoy the Manix 2 I would not have guessed you would have liked the Native... but it's all perceived preference.

I'll throw out a recommend for the Yojimbo 2!
Might be a bit hard for some to imagine wanting one at first glance, but it's like an acquired taste that grows stronger with use and appreciation. Amazing knife, and everyone should have a good wharnie!

Similar with my other recommendations - you also need some SpyderEdge in your collection, as well as a reverse-S, and Salt!
3 criteria people rarely search for at first, but Spyderco does so very well. Will keep redundancy out of your toolbox.

This confirms my mutant powers as I knew you were going to say that! :D
