As long as you dont pry with it or try to chop down a tree the Temp would be fine.

i think it would make an excellent Survival knife if pared with a hatchet.
 
I have 4 temps for keep sake use 2 of them daily for lite choping rope cutting i don't think it can be toughed by anther knife love it to death can't wait to take it camping but always care a hatchet for heavy work i 100% agree why risk your knife for brute work i have a rat 5 still use the hatchet 1st knife are for cutting and light chopping if you need to pry make a pry stick the temp can whip one out in just a few secounds.http://www.physics.mun.ca/~sstamp/knives/temperance_vg10.html
