I have been waiting on a money order for ten days and i still have not recieved it. However i recieved one that was sent only 8 days ago and got it yesterday. So is 10 days over the limit for waiting on a MO . Afterall , I believe it is coming from canada. Thnks

i sent a money order from oregon to texas last year that took nearly a month. communications were maintained the whole time, and buyer accepted my word that it was enroute. bottom line is how you feel about the deal, the buyer, and how the communications are going. the postal service is imperfect, and sometimes things happen that are beyond your and the buyers control, so you have to decide where the issue lies.

Thnks, I guess if the guy emails me back soon. which he hasnt much yet. But if he does and good communication is kept. I suppose I have nothing to worry about. And if he has no Money order number for me to track, i should decide from that.

give it time! sometimes the mail gets temporary lost or delayed. As long as you have good communications with the other party, you should be fine.
I always make a copy and email in along with the update that I just shipped the M.O. out. After 14 days goes by, ask the other party for a copy of the M.O. receipt just for peace of mind! Plus you can see when it was purchased as well.
good luck and keep us posted,

I have been waiting two weeks for a MO from a guy, I emailed two or three times to find out how he sent it, regular first class or ?, but never heard back from him, so I put the knife back up for sale. If the MO finally arrives, I'll give him the choice if I still have the knife of buying it or returning the MO, I don't know what else to do. I always send my MOs via USPS Priority mail, it gets there in a couple of days and I haven't lost one yet.

I hope it works out, I have a similiar thing on another forum, guy told me he wanted my knife adn would get a MO in the mail, 15 days later I e-mail him, applogizes and says he still wants the knife and will get it out to me that week...that was 20+ days ago and still no MO.

I would recommend patience. The worst that can happen is that you eventually repost the knife for sale and someone else buys it.

...and another reason to support PayPal despite other's objections.

Why people are asked to pay a fee to AVOID this type of delay is beyond me.

All that aside, I understand the delay, and although it takes mucho patience, ten+ days is not uncommon.

well, I got an email last night from the guy saying that he would mail it out today. then tonght i get an email that says it was lost. And that he can have his pal in the states send it. I dont know. Really im just confused. Bad communication if you ask me. And is a package shiped to canade just like a package shipped here in the states?

Not sure what you mean. A package shipped to Canada has to go through Customs. Also, when it gets to the Canadian border, Canada Post takes over, and there are likely differences in how they handle things.

What i meant is. Uh . When i go to the post office i simply pay the 4 dollars and whatever priority mail fee like usual, and then it just goes on its merry way like if i was mailing inside of the u.s. I mean there is no extra work required for me to send it....???.

You have to fill out a customs slip and declare what the item is and how much it's worth. They will tax him hard based on the figure you put down. Sometimes, if they think your figure is too low, they'll reassign a value based on ???.
As far as you're concerned, it's just an extra slip at the post office with some check boxes and a couple lines.

And i have seen alot of arguements about being truthfull on the value asked. I should always asign the correct value. Ballpark that is. Even if the buyer or trader asks for it to be falsly lowered?

now it's starting to sound a little weird... if he did send it then give him a day's time to scan the money order and receipt and e-mail it to you, or if he hasn't sent it yet and does have a buddy do it then the same rules apply, and give him a set time frame to get it done in. if that doesn't happen by the deadline you give him, then tell him deals off. he may not like it, but why should you suffer through all the hassle either.

Thnks for the advise winston. But the way that the guy is emailing me very vague and confusing. Im afraid a bombs gonna show up instead. I will do exactly as you say and tell him i nead the mo tracking number and a pic of the MO and or reciept. Any other time i sell knives outside the forums, or in people offer to send pics or some form of verification. Dude is sketchy. I will do as you said. thanks

When shipping to Canada you have to use Global Priority if you are going to ship something priority mail and the cost will be a little more.Plus like was already posted you have to fill out a customs form.

Dude, now you know why alot of us only trade or sell CONUS...If the guy isn't up front with the proof, I would cancel the deal and chalk it up to experience.
