Test: Gun knowledge...

79% gun nut.

There are some questions I'm curious about- for instance, having worked with walk-through detectors, a P-32 may or may not set one off- it depends on setting (otherwise, everyone would set them off- I've walked through one with a Spyderco, pepper spray, and phone). I'm a little curious what answer the author deemed correct...

John

ALl of the above was correct answer to the metal detector one. It's yet another take on the wonderful misinformation in Die hard about metal detector not detecting a glock.

You are 31% of a gun nut!
You scored higher than 10% on knowledge

Not bad considering I've never touched a gun in my life and don't know anyone (in person, anyway) who has.

You are 82% of a gun nut!
You have excellent skills in weapons handling. I could definetly trust you to cover my back. Matter of fact, you're probably packing right now!
You scored higher than 74% on knowledge. Yes I am Glock 19.

Arrgh. I want to see the answers.

It IS true they know me on a first-name basis at the range. And store.

You are 93% of a gun nut!

but it said I got 21 of 21 right?? Age correlation?

I guessed on the M16 operation and M1 clip capacity.

Steve

Gas tube and 8 round en bloc

79% 73% age corrected. I was unsure of the CETME, I knew they were Spanish but were they HK originally? Also unsure about the Glock parts, metal detector and M16 gas tube.

Steve, gas tube on the M16, and 8 rounds for the M1 clip. (10 rounds in .308 I believe.)

It told me 21 as well but I think that's just how many questions there were.

CETME is indeed Spanish. Cetme and Heckler and Koch are not associated.
H&K improved on Cetme's design.
Not sure on the # of Glock parts, even though I used to own one.

Though the Cetme is a Spanish company and gun, it was the Germans that designed the gun for them. These Germans started the design in Germany, but later perfected it in Spain for the Spanish Government. The design then later continued back in Germany and was perfected even more. The soundness of their roller delayed blowback bolt design (tied with their fluted chamber) has always been there, but the guns made in Germany had the advavntage of having German craftsmanship to boot. Hard to beat the Germans as so far as quality goes (at least it used to be that way) :)

The germans started the design in Germany, took it to Spain, left, and the Spanish continued work and came up with the CETME. (at least according to one of my gun books)

The most correct answer was 34 parts, although I have heard 33 as the figure previously. I need to check Peter Alan Kasler's book as it is pretty much the definitive reference.

You are 58% of a gun nut!
You're probably either a seasonal hunter or someone with a decent head knowledge of guns. Keep working at it, and you could really be a force to be reckoned with!

I was surprised I did that well!:D

I stand corrected on the Cetme. I chose 34 parts on the Glock, but wasn't confidant in that answer.
