Carothers Performance Knives is committed to performance, hence the name. Knives also, but that should be obvious by now:cool:

Constantly and consistently pursuing data, CPK relies heavily on test knives being used in the field in order to find limitations on design, materials and manufacturing methods.

This thread is devoted to my experience using the LightChopper in its natural environment.

Updates coming soon...

this is a little one take explano. Wish I'd said a few more things, and a few things differently, but it gets the idea across I hope.

Lorien, you do realize that Nathan and Jo will most probably and at best be offering no more than 5-6 LC's this Friday and not like 50 of them, right? I think you just may have encouraged some folks to go and update their Internet speed to max speed offered by their ISP ;)

So my friend , what you have proven with this video???? I'm sorry I lost 1:21 min. from my time !! If you have no idea how to test this beautiful knife , just ask ................ don't full as around :)

You can try something like this ......that s place were this 3V will shine

PS . I really like this knive . I like the design, I like the way that is made so I contacted a friend who lives in the USA and probably I m going to get one .BUT , I really do not like the way you represents this knive . The knife is not cheap and most likely potential customers are people experienced about knives and their performance ......One thing is to cut nails with hammer on the spine of knife and another thing is to cut nails directly with knive .But that is not important to me .When time comes and I must demolish a door , I will not hesitate to do that and I will not care is there a nail to chip the edge ....................What I'm saying is this..........I need a knife that will work today.....How will look at the end of the day it does not matter at all to me .And I think that this knive will work

PSS. I apologize if I offended anybody with this post .I don t know why but I do not have access to private messages .........

I wish I could claim to be a wicked good thrower of knives, but I'm just your average mediocre thrower. As such, it took several takes to get 3 throws at 3 distances to stick. The LightChopper hit the ground tip first at least 8 times, hit the target obliquely- putting extra stress on the tip- and hit the target handle first a few times. The manufacturing tolerances between tang, handle and fasteners is really, really tight- so no loose handle. The lateral stress from the oblique hits had no effect.

Here's what little damage occurred to the tip;

These blunt areas will be easily sharpened out.

Lorien,

I think I could summarize Natlek's comments into:

"You suck at reviewing knives, all knives should be sent to him for review."

It's possible I am wrong. It has happened once before.

Those LC throwing videos made me wanna faint. I can't even imagine doing that to my LC if I get attacked by, ah, ummm; a possum?!

I have my very own troll! Must be doing somethin right, lol :)

As for the cringe-worthy footage- I do this so that you can know that you can count on a Carothers knife when the chips are down- and the possums are angry!

Over here in Australia, we have some really hard wood, like red wood. I am around this most days so I'd be happy to do some testing for you ;-)
