OK here is a first try at rebuilding an old slip joint a cheap imperial serpentine jack scrapped the shell handles and the outer liners replaced with 1/8th inch aluminum handle slabs at this point they are roughly finished . I've been carrying it trying to decide what to do from here. Reassembly didn't go perfectly but the outcome is usable and sturdy.
