TGLB, Convince me

A few years ago an Australian passenger on a US Air flight was questioned by police for an accusation of verbal abuse/ threat to an aircrew member. It ended up that the Aussie passenger was advised that all the pretzels were gone. Her response to the flt attendant was, "Fair dinkum".

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!

Ordered:

TGLB. Tanker Gray with Tan/Black G10

What my wait going to be in this?

Two Weeks? Lol

Not very patient, Bought a TGLB off the exchange Tanker Gray/Black Canvas

Also ordered Tanker Gray with black/tan G10

ITS AWESOME!!!

THANKS

Tanker Gray and black canvas has a classic look imo. Blue/black G10 if you want something more showy. Great feeling knife as other's have said. I can only think of one occasion right now where someone on the forums didn't like the TGLB after they got it. I have gotten Swamp Rats and Scrap Yards that needed sharpening. My Busse's have at worst needed a light touch on a steel. No biggie to me but others freak out. My feeling is if a person can't sharpen a knife they should get another hobby. Folks here love to show others their knives so maybe someone close by to you will chime in and offer to meet up with you and let you handle their TGLB (and probably a box full of other Busse's, Swamp Rats, and Scrapyard's as well).
I agree a person who can't sharpen a knife should find another hobby. But in Geoff's experience and mine should swamp rat get another hobby?

Uh oh, you've contracted INFI-itus.
I've got it too... There is no cure, so you need to learn to live with it.
Just apply INFI to the affected areas liberally.

Note: Treatment works best if new INFI is applied at least one per year, if INFI is unavailable illness may also be treated with SR-101 and certain variations of ElMax.
;)

Black canvas handle with a tanker grey blade.

This is a heavy brigade version. When it was new...

Hopefully these pics convince you.

How did you "strip" the blade and how do you get the handle to look like its actually black in a way. I dont know if i should get the black canvas because it looks almost white and i dont want black paper either, but the color of your handle is perfect how did you do that? I love it you did a great job on that knife. 👏👏👏🙏

Rob's probably sleepin' right now, so I'll jump in here to help. Any of the paint strippers will work to take the coating off the Busse blades (I've had good luck with the gel like citrus stuff and it works MUCH better on a warm/hot day than on colder days). As for the micarta, what you're seeing in the first pic is the canvas free of oils and completely dry (Dish soap and drying or gunscrubber can make it look like this). The darker handle is just from use...the oils/sweat in your hands will darken the micarta to that greenish/black/gray look we all like! You can speed up the darkening process by applying olive oil to the scales, but that will usually make them waaaay darker than they would get just from normal use. They will lighten as the moisture in the oil evaporates or if you wash it with dish soap and hot water again.

Hope that helps,

Stump
