TGLB just arrived...awewome blade!

Congrats on your TG!!! Sounds like your TG has found a good home!

I almost pulled the trigger on this one but I love my Terror Monkey Desert Storm Fighter too much to let her get displaced by the TGLB hussy. LOL

Just got mine today - about 7 weeks.

Can't say enough good things about the TGLB - it has to be one of the classic designs for a all purpose knife. The ergonomics and balance are great. Very useful blade profile, and it feels like you could do most anything with this knife in hand.

How much they charge for comp finish? I don't see any detail about this finish on Busse site.

The TGLB is one of those knives that looks kind of different but when it comes down to it, its really a classic blade design. The guard, the blade geometry, its a reinterpretation of the Kbar knife, a knife that has been used for decades as an excellent general purpose knife. In my case, I wasnt very attracted by it when I first looked at it, but then it kind of grows on you. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and cant wait to get mine!

Ok, looking at the Busse combat order form, I didn't see any options for comp fininish.. just curious if you had them do this or stripped it yourself... looks good!

Its not on the website, you have to call in. There wasn't an extra charge for me.

I've just noticed the knife is flawed. Instead of stopping just short of the the blood channel, the hollow grind on one side goes slightly past the edge of the channel. This means there is no lip around channel (like there is on the other side of the knife). This result it that, on that side only, there isn't a uniformly flat spot to clamp or lay the knife for sharpening (I have an Edge Pro Apex sharpening system). This also means that, when placed on the sharpener guide, the angle the knife lies at on one side will be different than the other side (which will cause an asymmetrical edge). What a drag.:(
I guess that means I'll have to send it back and, at best, wait 7-8 weeks all over again or... move on to something else.

can you add an arrow to the pic to explain?
And I am pretty sure warranty stuff won't have to wait 7 weeks..

I don't know if you can see this very well but...notice that, at point B there is a tiny zone separating where the hollow grind stops and the blood groove begins. At point A this little zone doesn't exist and the hollow grind has gone past the edge of the blood groove creating a uneven step. I don't know if it's because the blood groove is slightly crooked or whether the hollow grinding process just went a bit too far. Anyway this is typical... when it's the most inconvenient to get any kind of warranty service...that's exactly when I am pretty much guaranteed to have a problem. Now on top of the basic hassle of needing to send the knife back, I have to ship back and forth across the US border with all the added problems and delays that entails. (I avoided this when I bought the knife by making the 3 hour round trip down to Washington from Vancouver and picking up the knife in the US.)

Actually your's looks like it has the same problem. Like I said before. This is a "problem" because, the other side of my knife is fine so there is no way I'm going to be able to get the same angle when I lay it flat in the guide of the Edge Pro. Anyway, I guess I'll find out just how the good the Busse warranty is on Monday.

I see what you mean now and after seeing Feezle pics..
Show me the pictures of "good" side.
Above are pix of both sides of mine and they are identical.
