If you have to pick one, only one... which one would you take?

for me I like the Res-C so much that I think it would be the Soldier

great pics. I guess I would go with tgm. there is no wrong choice. I love comparison pics. puts things into perspective.

I like res c handle and I like the DS but I love my TG's so TGM for me. I've actually just bought another one off the exchange because my mom used mine once and will not give it back. I'm 47 years old my mother is still taking my toys away. :D

If the handle on the M was nuked it would be the TG for sure, but without handling one yet Im going with
the DS and the ResC

I'm hoping a few more people choose the TGM so that they cast their scraps (dog soldiers) off to the exchange. :)

I don't know, I kind of like the handle as-is
As a utility knife the the Dog soldier is GREAT, comparing it to a combat knife doesn't work for me. The TGM is on a plateau; in my opinion with a Regulator handle the DS would surpass it, I just really love the neutral all business Regulator Res-C handle, and the guard makes a great blade catch whereas the TGM just deflects

The regulator handle would be better if the blade was a full TG length vs TGM length.

In the length of blade the DS has, the handle is perfectly sized. The regulator handle would make it feel a little lop sided in size-feel, I think. I could be wrong.

Easy choice! TG - that way, after you got done stabbing (if ya had to of course god forbid) and you had a runner, even if you are off 180 on the throw the pommel end will still crack their head :D

If just one going into a "one knife" scenario, and choosing between only these 2, the full tang for prying, with extended butt for smashing, and the lashing points for spears, etc etc, then the TGM - I would like to get my hands on a TGM-INFI - although I am just fine with my DS for what I will likely ever use it for, and I have other blades that I could take that would perform equally or better to the TG-M for a "one knife" scenario...so, I love my DS, and I could live without a TGM-INFI for the rest of my Busse days and be okay. I am more and more intrigued by the TGM every day, and I will be getting 2 A2's in as well. Not INFI, although the warranty is the warranty for every knife made, so good and confident in those performances as well. INFI is better for stripping since A2 is more rust prone as well (in South Louisiana at least), which is another factor as well driving my "want" for a TGM-INFI.

That blue coating is just bad-ass, cannot wait to see it on my tan canvas TGM-A2.

I second that! My weiler is coming in that color on the blade and I have one more coming down the line with it too - I'm really digging that color a lot, it almost looks like an indigo, it's pretty sharp looking.

if a self defense scenario i guess TGM would win all the time but in Canada we can have nearly any kind of knife (there are some restriction) but we can't say it's for self defense

and for me these 2 are to play in the wood so for THAT scenario, the Soldier win for me :)

TGM all day.

Not a huge fan of the Res C Handle.

It’s a bit too thin and I have medium hands. It it was thicker then maybe.
