TGM vs Soldier

I think the Reg requires a .33 tang.
Someday we will a big chunk of Infi on a Reg handle... until then we have the HOGB8:thumbsup:

Could still be done by having a .33 tang in the handle and then taper it to whatever through the ricasso.

And yes, the DS8 would be a perfect candidate for that treatment.

Dog soldier for me.
In a one knife scenario, both are not my choice because there are many better choice. So in this size i would pick DS which without the top guard for better cutting experience.:)

I ain't planning on blocking or catching anything....
I just don't like my hand slipping onto the blade when I'm cutting some...thing...
It's just insurance...

I stuck a lot of hogs prior to the company installing those D guards
on our Old Hickory $5 sticking knives...
But I still prefer dual guards.

While I'm typing...
I also like something to keep a good grip when trying to extract
The knife while my hands are covered in whatever coloured liquid...
For example, coffin shaped handle, or like the DTBM...

I see many "tactical" knives with grips tapering / narrowing towards the back of the knife.
That is not conducive to good retention, whether fighting or cleaning fish,
or butchering game...

Please fellers & ladies... brother & sister knife knuts...
These opinions are my own...
My .02 cents Cdn if you will...
I don't mean to start a my knife is better than your knife debate...
Nor is this prac tac...

Dang, I just realized I may have done just that.
No offense intended 1Abominal1!!!
(Cool signature, damn Zombies, lol!)

Y'all have a great weekend...!

I appreciate that, and, no worries- not only did I take no offense at any point or counter point you made to my comment but I don't offend easily- I leave that to the young snowflakes on the news

We're all here for the same reason looking at the same tools for totally different reasons wanting different versions of that tool, chances are we'll like different stuff.

I'd probably warm up to a double guard pretty quickly if I was working at the slaughter house or thought I'd need a blade for self defense, but, I'm just a knife guy who enjoys a sweet blade to hunt, hike, camp, or bum around the woods or farm with and FOR ME the DS would beat out the TGM.

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT.

Thanks 1AbominAble1...
Great to hear back from you...!
I like blades for the same reasons...!

Part of the reason for the D-Gaurds was the number of guys self mutilating to
go on Workers Comp!!
I'd tell you, but nobody here would believe me...

I guess it probably influences my choice in guards...
Tho, I admit sometimes a top guard can be in the way...

And in Canada, it is mostly illegal to carry a pistol...

Anyway, thanks again 1Ab1!
I hope to get out hunting next week sometime!
Good luck hunting, hiking, and bumming around the woods & farm!

Pleased to meet you 1AbominAble1!
My name is Randy, aka Sixx.

Well Sixx, it's been my pleasure to meet you Sir.
Thank you for the well wishes, I could use the luck- the deer have been doing a pretty good job of hiding from me this year, so far.

I hope that you find the time to get out hunting and wish you luck as well.

My name is Rich, feel free to drop me a line anytime.
