Thamar Curve Spine Knife and All Around Khukuri for 9/1

I'd like to withdraw my last statement regarding the weight. The curved spine is actually very close to the long leaf, if anything slightly slighter. The long leaf is much heavier than I recalled.

I guess I was thinking of the British WWII that gehazi has sent me. It looks very similar as well, slightly shorter but considerable lighter.

Pictures soon.

I speak baby talk in 7 languages, I'll try to narrate for those who don't understand it.

Grandpa! I don't want the damn sheath, let me play with the Curved Spine!

My of my! My shirt says it all. I want this.

Give it back, I'm not done.

Now grandpa or you'll see a diaper like you never seen before!

Some comparison shots.
I put the British WWII, the Long Leaf, the Curved Spine and just for grins the Hanshee. All fairly similar. Weight on Curved Spine and Long Leaf very close. WWII and Hanshee much lighter of course.

Buttcap variations.

A very fine Saturday indeed.

Great day for you, Bawanna! That baby pic #4 sure shows a big smile! Thanks for the comparison photos. It's good to see the differences between the different models. Must admit after seeing the curved spine, the Hanshee model is a nice knife, but has dropped off my radar. Interesting to see the double "skull cracker" on the curved spine.

I really like the double "skull cracker". First one I've got that had that and it looks nice to me. It has to be a little more effort for them to pull off too.

Pretty Grandbaby! Gurkhas had to be male I guess?
Wow! That curved spine is dang near Hanshee! Great comparison shots Bawanna! Double tap skull crack:thumbup:

That was my first thought too. Not as much drop in the handle but the blade contour is pretty close.

The hanshee of course is half the weight. It was fun to look at them side by side. I for some reason remembered the long leaf as super light but such was not the case. It's quite thick through the spine and pretty solid. It and the Curved Spine are near twins. I love it.

Can you feel any difference in "front heaviness" from the Curved Spine being Chiruwa and the GAK (longleaf) being rat tail? Seems the Thamar blade would feel less front heavy? Im liking that blade more and more. especially the double peined tang. Sounds like a blade id want to get a sheath made for and be a regular user. Nope I aint calling pugs. I know hes swamped lately;)

Call him anyway. We don't want him to feel lonely. He hardly visits anymore.

I know, I am glad he is staying busy but he could at least stop in and let us know the beavers didn't finally succeed at getting him.

Oh man, those are some beautiful knives. I'm really coming around to the longleaf/curved spine style, with the big belly and the rounded back.

That hanshee is calling my name Bawanna buddy! Ill trade you a Dui Chirra for it! LOL...I gots to have one made for myself. I love the style and I am uber jealous right now.

You make me weak at the knees (not that it matters much being a full time sitter). I do have a severe hankering for a Dui Chirra. The Hanshe was a gift though and I just don't feel right swapping. Very tempting though and 5 minutes from now my guilt might subside and I'll be on board.

Fair enough Bawanna buddy, I wouldn't feel right trading a gift either. The offer stands if you ever want to do the trade, that is until I decide to order a Hanshee. I already contacted Auntie about having one made. She told me to hit her up after Dashain and Tihar holidays. I guess its not a good time to talk business with all that celebrating is going on. Its ok I have patience and just seeing pictures of yours is good enough for me. I wish Karda would post some more pics of his, he as a nice hollow ground going on if I remember correctly. Love the two handed length grip. I wonder if they could make one with a curved two handed grip? I will have to discuss that with Auntie in a week or two.

PS... I love your longleaf, there is something so cool about partial tangs. I think they look better than either full tang or the "stick tang" on the standard khuks. I just love the shape of it.

Don't be coveting my longleaf. It was a gift too, actually same guy?!!! I'm starting to feel like a welfare case here.

Not good.

Bawanna, What is the third one that you show on the photos. oic, Hanshee is just like a banana in shape. Lighter but more curve as well.

That would be the curved spine by Thamar? If I'm not mistaken. I was going to shark that one up but got beaten to it on the DOTD a few days ago. Beautiful knife, absolutely beautiful.
