Thank you for the BK62, Mr. Becker

After three weeks I'm only down half a tank of gas vs my usual once/week fill up!

I used to burn a tank a week commuting. I haven't filled the cars in a month (started this mess with them topped off). Should be good for another month at least. So... $30-$40/week unspent? And I count that at the price was was paying for gas when I stopped driving. :-D

And almost has...haha VERY Slicey!
Well actually my thumb.... there is a post on it! :O

So put it to work on some food prepping. It was great. Indeed, very slicey. Luckily I kept my fingers. lol

So far really like it. More options to interchange for my edc.

Thanks. It was basil lol. I like to make my own spaghetti sauce when I can.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, putting it back on track or try to.

Most of my knives have been more combat/survival. Lately I have been leaning more toward the Bushcraft style knife and you can’t get more Bushcraft then this one.

I was planning on getting some camping time in but, in our area it is more State Park, lake, river camping and all those are closed down. I was hoping to get some camping time in with my knives but with them being closed it will be house chores for them for now. I am really excited to put this BK62 to use.

Thanks to Mr. Becker and the KA-BAR family for the BK62 and the other Beckers

Yea we are lucky Ethan was so kind to share the original with KA-BAR and for them to make it so we all could own such a cool Knife if we wanted to :thumbsup: I must confess when I first saw the Kephart Knife it just looked like a old bait knife to me. But Just like the saying go’s never judge a book by its cover holds true to so much and this Knife is a good example. Thanks Ethan for realizing some of us just might dig this COOL KNIFE :) Be SAFE All :thumbsup:

I received my new Becker BK62 last week and I am in knife heaven. I feel a need to thank Ethan Becker (and Ka*Bar of course) for sharing the experience of the Kephart knife, with the world.
I like the “3 knife” philosophy for bushcraft/fieldwork/camping. I’m not a hunter. I have had my small and medium knives picked out, for some time (a Victorinox Farmer and a Ganzo G704, respectively [don’t come down on me about the Ganzo, it’s a superb little folder IMO]).
But my choice for number 3, the large knife, has eluded me and has been frustrating and expensive. I have tried and bought many. And spent hundreds of dollars. A few seemed promising initially, but then would disappoint. I began to despair that I would ever find my third knife.
Until last week. The first time I held the BK62 after opening the package, I just felt I had come home, and every time I have used it I like it more and more. It almost seems like a multi tool because of the myriad ways various sections of the blade can be used. Its feedback is better than any knife I’ve ever held. This knife talks to you. I’m already aware that it has improved my knife skills.
The BK62 Kephart seems to instantly connect me to a kind of intuitive sense of how to use a knife. It’s as if it confers skill on the user. I hate to sound woo-woo but there really is something magical about this knife.
So I want to thank you, Mr. Becker. You wanted to share the experience of this knife with the world, and you did. You didn’t have to do that. It was a very giving and selfless act on your part.
AND I NOW HAVE MY THIRD KNIFE!!
Very well said. I have similar thoughts and sentiments.

Old bait knife is about the way I felt about the Condor Kephart. Problem is it sucked even cutting a steak on a plate and have $7 Vic paring knives that do a better job. It just didn't do it for me. Intuitively, I suspected that I would really like using a Kephart, and I was so glad that Kabar and Ethan decided to do their Kephart recreation and 5 inches to boot. I recommend the knife highly. Like it so well, I have since purchased three other kepharts and about to order a 4th. The knife just works!!
