NEW WINNER POSTED. SEE POST 60.

Just a little something for those of you that have served your country. I am starting a GAW today, Memorial Day 2015, to say thank you for your time in service. The winner will be chosen at random sometime next month. I will cover basic shipping cost within the United States. Any other shipping cost, in or outside the US, is to be paid by the winner.

The knife: Kershaw Echelon, Type 2.

I bought it a few months back but have not carried it much. It comes with the factory box but no papers are included. The blade is clean, scratch free, and has never been sharpened. It has had a steel on it though. I have seen store demo knives that are in worse shape. It really does look like a NIB knife.

The Rules:

1. You must be a legal resident of the United States, at least 18 years of age and be able to legally own the knife offered.

2. You must have served in the United States Uniformed Services. Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. Service in the Coast Guard or Coast Guard Reserve will also count. As will any service in the Army or Air National Guard or Reserves.

3. All currently on AD, Retired, or with an honorable military discharge are eligible.

4. You must type "I served" somewhere in the text of your post. Your time in service and the branch of service must be listed (USMC 1969-1975, for example).

5. Only one entry per person, please. However, if you served in more than one branch of service then you may enter once for each branch of service. For example, if you served in the Navy and then later joined th National Guard, you are entitled to two separate entries.

6. You may post in this thread as many times as you like but only post with "I served" will be considered for the GAW. If you would like to add a picture, tell a service related story or joke, feel free. If you do, I might put something extra in the box when the knife is shipped.

7. You must have joined Blade forums before 1 Jan 2015 and be a member in good standing.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO IGNORE ANY POST THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THE ABOVE RULES. ALSO, LOOK HERE FOR THREAD CLOSING DATES AND/OR ANY CHANGES THAT NEED TO BE MADE IN THIS THREAD.

To all of you, Thank you.

-Lynn

NOT AN ENTRY

I want to be the first to say, OUTSTANDING Giveaway, to honor our Bladeforums service members. Thank you for doing this.

Not an entry.

Sabre, you don't have an email listed so I'll just ask you here. If it's ok with you I'd like to throw in a mystery knife as an additional giveaway. Same rules apply, I'll ship anywhere in ConUS. If you're ok with it you can just add it to the original post. For any other info or anything just email or pm me.

Thanks again to you and of course our service men and women.

Happy Memorial Day

A pic of the OPs knife(hopefully):

As much as I hate myself for pulling the " I was in the military/ veteran" looking for handouts and discounts . I really feel this is true hearted and it's an awesome gesture.
I served United States Marine Corps 2003-2007 0341 hence the forum name.

Great, would love meet up with you. You can say Hi to your old Griptilian.:D

I'm going to be in Sac at some point, also going to make a point of taking my son to pier 39 one day. Maybe we could meet there.

Then again, I might just want to take a trip to wine country.

Well, I live between the two. I am sure we can work something out.

Thank you for remembering those that have fallen. I will always remember you brothers

Thank you for the gracious opportunity. I served in the United States Air Force from 1975 thru 1979 as a firefighter, and I continue that as a career yet today.

(edited for "fat finger" affliction...:) )

Thanks for the GAW.

I served USAF 1997-present. Two years left until retirement. :)

Not sure if I qualify but "I served" in the South African Navy (1975 - 1976). When becoming a US Citizen I was too old to join the US Forces :).
