Thank You For Your Service GAW! WINNERS POSTED! AGAIN!

First kick ass idea for a GAW.
Thank you & all who served.
I served USMCR 89 May - 90 June.
Semper Fi.

Not an Entry as I'd rather see someone who currently serves get the knife. I'm proud to say I served with the USAF from 1963 - 1967.

Thanks to all who served before me, during and after.

Not an entry, haven't been a member long enough, but wanted to say great gaw...

Thanks very much for the chance at a generous GAW.

I served, SSGT, USAF 1978 - 1983. Telecommunications Technical Control.

God bless those who died in the service of our country, and their families.

I served in the Army, active duty 1984-1988, then the reserves 1989-1993. We served during the Cold War, which no one wants to remember, yet people were still killed doing their duty. In memory of my cousin USAF Captain Navigator Frank R. Ferguson, II, who so died with his crew off Cape Cod, Massachusetts in a EC-121 plane explosion 4-25-67 doing 24/7/365 radar picket duty with his crew, watching for any possible Soviet invasion over the North Atlantic. See "Fifty Fallen Stars" on Google. Thank you for doing this offer! Airborne! Old Virginia Joe

Not an entry. Just want to say Thank You to all the BF member veterans for your service. Great GAW!!!

Thanks for this great idea.
NOT an entry. I proudly served 1989-2012, USN, Chief Warrant Officer 3.

I served in the Army. 72 to 76. 1/3 Cav in Bayreuth, Germany. Border patrol on the Czech border. Also known as the "Iron Curtain" at the time. Thanx for the chance..PK

Not an entry.

Sabre, you don't have an email listed so I'll just ask you here. If it's ok with you I'd like to throw in a mystery knife as an additional giveaway. Same rules apply, I'll ship anywhere in ConUS. If you're ok with it you can just add it to the original post. For any other info or anything just email or pm me.

Thanks again to you and of course our service men and women.

Happy Memorial Day

Twisted Staple,

Please check your email.

Hi everyone,

I have not forgotten about the GAW. However I really did expect a higher turnout than this. I will wait until Friday evening, 5 June 2015 to draw the winning number.

Good luck everyone. There are so few entered that everyone has a good chance of winning.

This gaw got no love... Is the echelon2 just that bad I wonder, that you can't even give it away? Lmao...

Maybe it's the Echelon that has no love. I don't know.

The knife weighs next to nothing which is something that I am finding that I really enjoy. For a secondary carry, it is kinda fun. Drop it in your pocket and forget that it is there. Liked the knife enough to buy an second one. An early production version which is a little different. That is what I really wanted when I bought the type 2. I don't need two of them so one becomes the GAW.

I was once told that the Echelon is a poor man's Strider SJ 75. I would have to agree that the extreme basics are the same but that's it. After trying a Strider and using the Echelon, I am glad that I did not spend the money on the SJ75. A nice knife, but not for me.

I work around patients so I try to be very conservative with what I carry at work. A SAK and a Kershaw Zing both get more pocket time than the Echelon because of this. The Echelon does fill my hand a little better than the Zing or SAK but they win out because of my job and lifestyle. Out of the three, I like the Zing the most. Unfortunately, Kershaw took a step backwards when they lowered blade steel quality and moved Zing production overseas.

I think the Echelon is a very cool knife. Maybe there just aren't that many vets on the forum who want to participate in the GAW. I know that a lot of us do not like to do anything that makes us feel as if we are taking advantage of our vet status for special treatment.

At least that is how I usually feel, but I participated in the GAW because sabre cat is a friend.

And I REALLY like the knife. ;)

I served. USMC 1984-1988. Primary MOS 1345. Secondary MOS 8531. Thanks to all those that have likewise served and thanks to all those that are appreciative of those that did/do. I have two sons who served. One just got out of the Army where is was an MP, he did a tour in Iraq. Served 6 years. My youngest is currently an active duty Marine (0311) stationed in Hawaii. He wanted to re-enlist but they are scaling down and reducing the number allowed to re-enlist so he is going to try for a role in the Marine Reserve.

I think it's a cool (intriguing) knife as well, just saw the gaw found it's way back to the 3rd page and figured I'd crack some sarcasm for a free bump back up...
