Thanks knifeart

If there is anyone here who hasn't at least checked out Larry C. and knifeart.com, i urge you to do so...he has very nice things, good prices and excellent service.

his treatment of me in a recent deal was way above what i would have considered good service.

regards,
bill osteen

. i just got the WhiteWing small lockback in pearl. plus, as a personal touch, Larry included a nice little fur-lined pouch for it to live in.

I'm glad you had a good experience with knife art Bill, because I sure didn't.

I talked to Larry on a friday afternoon, and told him I was going to get a couple of knives. I definitely had one pick out, and was contemplating on the other. I was torn between two, and couldn't make up my mind. Anyway, I told him I would get back to him on Monday with my pick.

To make a long story short, the knife that I wanted was sold.

Now, my problem is that he couldn't wait to make the sale on Monday? He had to get rid of the knife that fast? He couldn't tell the person that wanted it that it was sold, or check back with him on Monday? We are talking over $2000 + worth of knives, and he couldn't wait.

If I tell someone that I will get back to him, I will! He new that the one I was sure of, I was going to buy, because I told him that. I just wasn't sure about the other one.

Needless to say that I will never shop at Knife Art again! He just lost a good customer, and he probably doesn't care either.

i hate that you had a bad experience, narruc.

being relatively new here, i have only done business with 3 people that i met through the forums; Chief was great; Roger at bayou lafourche was great and Larry at knifeart treated me great also.

i guess maybe it is the 'old law of averages' thing that finally catches most people in a bad deal situation.

i'm not offering excuses for anything, i just dont have a better understanding or explanation yet.

It's really no biggy! There are a lot of other sites out there, like Blade Art.com, Arizona Custom knife, and Triple Aught, Just to name a few. I guess you can not have it roses all the time!

Take care, and hope all your transactions go the same as your last.

Unfortunately, in the marketing world that is what is known as a "Be-backer", all the promises in the world certainly don't add up to a deposit that you could have made on a credit card to show that you were serious. (I dont doubt that you were.)

As a full time knife dealer on the net, I am sure Larry gets people telling him day in and day out that "I am definately going to buy that knife on Monday, Pay-day, the first full moon, or whatever."

The bottom line is if you are serious, leave a deposit to HOLD a purchase while you are making your mind up. I have lost several knives on these forums and from dealers when the speed of my wallet didn't jive with the speed of my mouth.

No flames here Narruc, just a reminder that guys like Larry need to sell knives to survive, and its first come, first served-unless you leave a deposit. I dont think there is a dealer, or maker who would treat you any differently. At least any who do this for their main liveliehood.

Whats the old saying...MONEY TALKS AND BULLSHIRT WALKS.......or something like that.

Well said Anthony. Larry is a class act, and I wouldnt hesitate to recomment him to others. As a part time dealer/purveyor, I get the "I'll be back" routine all too often. You should give Larry a chance to make it right. By the way, all Whitewing knives come with those nice little fur lined zipper pouches.

Have to agree, if you are interested in something, put a deposit down. If you decide later that it is not for you, then you should be able to get the deposit back(depending on the dealer's policy). If the dealer knows you well and you are a very good customer, he may be willing to hold this for you without the deposit.

My own experience with Larry of Knifeart was good.
